Molly, that is tough! You spoke from your heart and wanting a child is so emotional that I don't blame you! I guess one way is to just listen to him and hug him! You don't have to tell him why he doesn't have a sibling yet as that is between you and your SO! Big hugs and happy friday as well!

Molly do sorry...my son age 2 is asking for a sister but we are TTC this summer so he will have a brother or sister hopefully next spring. I hope he isn't upset if he gets a brother instead of a sister although I would like a girl. Anyway I think you did say the right thing, that is a tough topic with a little one.

Aww, that would be hard to answer. I probably would have been vague in my response, something along the lines that a baby brings a lot of responsibility. I think that a 7 yo can understand that. Has he brought it up again?

No, he hasn't brought it up since that day. Well yes, I guess if he does bring it up again I should use more tact and be more vague.... thanks Melissa!
