UGH DH and I were SUPPOSED to go camping. Sure enough it rains and storms EVERY day. Thpbpbt. At least we cooked out. We also went out partying with BIL as he left to Germany and who knows when we'll see him next.

Well, I'm pretty excited. I posted awhile ago about not knowing what we're doing (DH and I) etc. and things are finally coming together. So far our plans revolve around finding an apartment here soon (I'm looking at two today) and finishing out this year at school. Then, next May, we are planning on heading to Europe, backpacking for three months, then I'm planning on studying abroad (my school has some great programs) and DH will either study also, or get a job (which according to a friend who lives in Berlin will be relatively easy with his expertise).

We've been doing a lot of reading and research, and have really decided there's not better time for us. DH is a contract employer and hopefully his contract will go a full year. Then, it woudl be ending in May along with my semester. It will be so much fun, and will really let us experience our youth as a couple. We know quite a few people in Europe, and from there will go from hostel to hostel.

I am so excited about this as I love Europe and have been wanting to move there, but terrified to take that plunge, until I had one of those "awakening" moments. Also, as I grow closer to TTC, I become more afraid that I just haven't experienced enough of my life to do it yet. A child is so permanent and I'm such a free spirit, I have so much to get out of my system yet. I think 3 months of backpakcing with 9 (possibly more) of living in another country will really help that.

DH loves this idea also. He too wants to experience more of the world. We both love traveling. We plan on doing lots of traveling when we have kids, but it'd be rather tough to backpack Europe, trying to experience things, sleeping in hostels, etc with a baby strapped to you. LOL. I'd rather it be just the two of us.

Anyhow, we definitely won't be trying for over a year. But, that's great with me, because in less than a year we leave! We're planning all the formalities now. My friends having a baby in about two months, so I can play with her. LOL my friend was one of the reasons it made it easier to wait - I see what she goes through.

WOW! Jamie, that sounds GREAT! I spent ten measly days touring Spain (at the age of 14 with some classmates)--I can't imagine months of it! I really envy your spirit of adventure! Last I knew, you guys were going through a lot so it's truly wonderful to see such a happy ending, er, beginning, uh...continuation ahead! You'll never regret it! Congratulations on what lies ahead!

thank you Sarah! As I mentioned (in other post) things are so much better now... Thankfully. A few months I never want to relive. LOL

BTW, forgot to mention earlier - good luck with your weight loss. I am also trying to get to 130 before trying.
