I'm Back!
2
Mon, 08-30-2010 - 3:51pm
I was here back in 2008 I think when I was WTT for #2... #2 is now going on 6 months old, and I have 11 months til we TTC #3!

I don't think I posted here very often, so I'll give a proper intro!
I'm Ashley, 22 (23 in October) year old stay at home mom, married to 21 year old Jason for 3 years. We have a very soon to be 3 year old son Aiden, and nearly 6 month old daughter (due date baby!) Akaydia. We have 3 cats... and we live in Quebec, Canada.

I'll probably lurk more than anything lol, but I'll be here!

I breastfed my son until he self-weaned at 25 months, so it didn't help him any lol... he would catch a cold anytime we were around my Dad's kids... they're always sick with something.

I was reading your posts about fall/winter babies. My son was born in December and he had one small cold when he was about 2 months old. I guess maybe it depends on the baby. I did breastfeed him until 7.5 mos too so I wonder if that had something to do with it too. Not sure.

Hi, Ashley -- welcome back to the board! I'm Jay, 26, from NC, and my husband and I are waiting to try in about 11 months also -- sometime next summer for sure if all goes to plan. I look forward to seeing you around the board!

kiwi-pumpkin said it all lol... Fall/Winter = Cold after cold after cold... it was HORRIBLE! I think Aiden has 5 colds before 6 months! Never ever again lol.

I very much like the 2.5 year spacing between kids, so that's our main reason to wait for August 2011 to

Hello Ladies,

How fun that a few of you are from Quebec...I live in the Montreal region, how about yourselves?

As for Fall Babies, indeed pictures with colourful leaves and pumpkins are gorgeous, I took tons myself but having had a Fall Baby and a Spring/Summer Baby I say, Spring and Summer are the ideal seasons because you get to spend a lot of time outside, no need to bundle baby in thousands of layers of fabrique, no constant worries of baby being cold, wearing next to nothing makes it ideal for nursing too but my biggest reason is Baby is a little older, has more anti-bodies and is better equiped for he's first cold and flu season. Tristan was born Nov 9th, five weeks early so was a little but premie and our first winter was a rough - a simple cold for him would have meant hospitalisation so I was limited in what I could do for excercise and fresh air...he's first six months were a lot harder of him, me and our couple than Oli's were...he was born June 30th! Because of cold snaps, I spent days inside and when we did venture out, I avoided crowds (no malls) and was constantly worried about his warmth...and the thought of a viral infection in his little as yet mature lungs was intense....but but but...I don't want to sound naggie...we had loads of fun, I loved every minute with him, first experiences were wonderful...and he got to learn to crawl on sun warmed grass and learned to stand holding on to Christmas decorations when he was one!!! And he's not a bubbling soon to be four year old so all worries of premieness are gone!
All this super long drawn out babble to say, I found it much much easier handling a newborn in the summer than in winter, the logistics of heavy winterwear and the limited activities compared to the hundreds you can do in summer are a major factor in my choosing to TTC to have another spring or summer baby...but whether Mother Nature will cooperate that's another story...
Cheers to you all....

Off topic, but I've been thinking about trying the DivaCup or the Keeper in order to save on tampons!

Hi Ashley, nice to meet you! I'm Becki, I'm 24 and my DH Paul is 26, we're WTT for our first possibly next year, but no set date yet.

I use the DivaCup and Lunapads too, noticed that in your sig, glad to see another one!

How did you decide on the timing for TTC #3?

Also, how did you like having an October baby? I saw some maternity photos with pumpkins in them the other day and I was so jealous, it made me really want a fall baby, but I bet being pregnant in the summer would be tough.
