Hi everyone. I've been with my boyfriend, Chris for two years in January '11. We have an growing and steady relationship and love eachother very much. He is an IT consultant and I am unemployed (for the time being). I'd like to finish my college career SOON and I'm thinking of starting this upcoming year to complete a degree in veterinary technology. I've really had a hard time deciding majors but this is the one I keep returning to. I know it's a hard living to start but I feel I'd be good at this and I love animals, so...

Anyway, we talk about marriage and children all the time and we are sure we want both. First, though, we'd like to be able to buy a home or atleast get a bigger apartment. I'd like to be done school & hopefully in the working field. We also talk about vacationing and I dont know if that'd be a good idea if we had very young children so before would be better. Its so overwhelming when you've got so many plans and barely a start on them. Where to go from here?

What stresses me is,

Hi and welcome to the board! I'm Victoria and DH and I are WTT our first!

I think fear is normal as no one is ever 100% ready for a baby, after all! How many years would you study this course?

thank you for your response. i kinda needed one after a setback in my relationship with chris last night. are you trying for a girl or boy? How old are you?

Hi, I'm Becki - What is your name or how should we call you? How old are you?

I'm 25 and my husband Paul is 26, and we're waiting to try for our first too. We've been together 6 years and married for 3. I agree with you, it is hard to decide when the right time is - but I'd definitely focus on completing your program first, it sounds like that's what you really want. The good news is, it sounds like a degree with clear job potential - not like me and liberal arts :-)

I am 29 and DH is 41! We are not trying yet and we hope to have both genders.

I'm sorry to hear about your setback, I hope things work out!

Hey There, you forgot to tell us your name?

Anyway, if I tried to think about all those things at once, I would be crazy too!

Hi Becki, wow 6 years seems like such a long time compared to my two with Chris. My name is Sarah, btw. Don't worry..you have plenty of time to decide on what to do. I've changed my mind SO many times it's hard to believe I've finally made a set decision ;) I too took liberal arts my first couple years of college, and I have an associates now. It was fun because for the most part I could take whatever classes I wanted. Just wish I woulda knew then that veterinary technology would be what I'd be taking now. haha! Nice to meet you.

" I feel like when you are WTT, it helps to look at the reasons you are waiting, and working on achieving those goals as PART of the journey to kids, as oppose to being obstacles . . . "

ABSOLUTELY!
