My appointment...

Well, had my appointment yesterday. It was a little bittersweet, but overall went good. Dr gave me some good information (and by the way, he was totally in to the meeting). Basically everything he said, I already knew, but he did assure me about my pre-existing condition and the concerns I had based on what my mom went through. He also told me he wanted me to have 2 cycles before I got pg, and that the average couple takes 9 months (9 MONTHS!!! good grief) to conceive. Wow. Anyway, I of course was trying to talk DH into still going off the pill now so that we'd be off for 2 cycles in July, but he's still not sure it's a good idea. And, I know he's right. If we end up relocating, I'd hate to be pg and not have his or my new insurance cover me becuase it's pre-existing pregnancy. So, we're still stuck waiting. But, it was nice to hear my DH say that it was sad that we couldn't have been as excited as we should have been. Well, not nice, but you know what I mean. Good for me to hear he feels the same way. That he wants to start, but knwos we shouldn't, and he wishes we could :( Anyway, now I don't really have any short term goals to look forward to, so it's going to be a long few months....

Sounds like you learned a little from your appointment. Do you feel like it was worth it? I've been trying to decide if I should make a preconception appointment or if I should just wait until I'm pregnant. I didn't know that it takes the average couple nine months to conceive, that seems like forever because I've been waiting so long already. It is nice to hear that your DH seems frustrated too. The months will fly by, just keep yourself occupied. With the nice weather get outside and have some fun because around this time next year you'll be getting ready to have the baby!!

It sounds like things went as well as you could have expected--that's great! I know you know this, but you'll feel much better once you two have things stable. Your hormones may just have made you crazy if you became pregnant and didn't know where the insurance would be the next day. (Self pay isn't so bad if nothing goes wrong--Just $2000-$3000--but if you would need a c-section or something--YIKES!) And you've got us for the wait! You know we're going to miss you when you skip out of here, so we're selfishly glad to keep you for a while. (((Hugs)))
