Hello, I've been lurking around here for a little while and finally decided to post.

I've just recently gotten married and my husband and I desperately want a baby. He's going to be in school until Dec. 2009 so we have to wait until after that. We recently talked and decided that once my bc prescription runs out then we will start trying. It runs out in April 2009. I was just wondering what I should do to get ready. I'm about 20 lbs more than I'd like to be and just can't seem to get any motivation to start loosing the weight. Any advice? And, should we wait at all after I go off the bcp before trying? Should I take a pre-natal vitamin and if yes, how soon?

Sorry, lots of questions. Any advice would be great!

Thanks,

Hilary

Hi Hilary!

Welcome to the board, and congrats on your marriage! My name is Alyssa (29) and DH is Kyle (27) and we just got married in September. We're waiting until Fall 2009 to TTC because I need to finish my PhD before we do or I'll NEVER go back! LOL

I've stopped taking BCP just two weeks ago. I really wanted to start charting and nail down my cycle before TTC. There's no rule to say that you can't start TTC right after you're done your last pill - it's just suggested because your cycle tends to go a bit crazy after you go off and it's hard to tell when you're ovulating and such.

Not sure about the vitamins and weight loss - although I'm sure it's a good idea I don't think they are absolutely necessary, you know? The best thing to do would be to talk to your doctor, as they know your body better than we do ;)

Good luck and I hope to see you around the board a lot!

Hi all,

Thanks so much for the welcome and the advice. I just wanted to introduce myself a little better. I'm 21 and my husband is Josh (27). We got married in August. I don't think I'm going to start charting until my perscription runs out. I don't want to take the chance of any accidents before then.

Thanks again,

Hilary
