Hi Ladies,

I just found this board, and I thought I would stop in and post. I am a member of the On Hold board on PP, but I love having lots of people to talk to, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to join here too!

I am Alison, and me and my boyfriend Chris have been together for almost 1 year. (on the 16th of this month). We are waiting until he is done school which will be June 2009. That seems like lightyears away. He starts an engineering program this fall.

Hopefully I will get into the program of my choice next year when I apply, which is Midwifery. It is a 4 year program, so if I get into it first try we will graduate the same year.

Either way we are on hold until June 2009.

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. I look forward to getting to know everyone better! Hugs to all!

Hi Alison!

Great to meet you. I pop back and forth from here to 'On Hold' and 'Deciding to Try'. And they're all so helpful. Congrats on choosing midwifery. I've always been interested in something like that. However, my husband and I will be reaching our 5 year anniv. really soon, and I can't really start a new career that would take 4 years of schooling. I, unfortunately, suffer from Endometriosis. So, it's decision time on whether we start trying some time soon, or I go on b.c. for a while.

Just prolonging the inevitable is so hard, and I understand setting a date 4 years or so from now. In a good way, you never know what the future holds. Anything can happen, and anything's possible.

Enjoy some years with your bf. I wanted a child asap when I met my hubby, but in the time, I have learned to love him deeper than I ever thought possible. We really know each other, and we're on the exact same page. That does take time. I learned to trust my life in his hands. And if I can do that, we can trust each other with a child.

I wish all the best for you, career, and bf,

C U on these boards,

Jen & DH

Hi and welcome,

Thats great that you guys already have a long term plan. Even though it seems forever away, it'll go by quickly. And, who knows what could change (in your favor!) by then. :) Good luck with getting into your program.

DH and I are also college students - me professionally (haha) and him part time and he works full time. So we'll see how it goes!

Hope to see you around
