Hi everyone,

I'm new to this board. I have twins that are 18 months old, one boy and one girl. We had always talked about having two kids, one boy and one girl, so our family seems perfect.

It took us almost a year and our first round of clomid to conceive the twins. When I was in early pregnancy, I had spotting. The ultrasound showed 3 growing babies. We lost the third baby a week later.

Ever since then, I had the feeling that we were supposed to know about that third baby. I believe God gives us what we can handle and he didn't think we were ready for 3 babies at that time. I do think we're supposed to have that third baby though.

It took me over a year to tell my husband about this feeling. It took him another 6 months to talk to me about it again. We've now decided we want another child in our family but we're not ready financially or logistically yet.

We are waiting until this Summer to try. I worry that it will take us a long time or that it will never happen. I'm glad to find this board to help with my baby fever and this feeling of hopelessness for the child that will complete our family.

Wow that was longer than I expected! Sorry about that.

Thanks, Jay. Wow, summer 2011. That seems like forever away when you want a baby. How do you stay sane with waiting?

Hi Kate, welcome to the board! I'm sorry about the miscarriage of your third, and I understand what you mean about feeling like you're meant to have three. Best of luck when you TTC this summer!

I'm Becki, the CL of WTT and I'm 24. My DH Paul (25) and I are waiting to try for our first until at least this fall. Personally, right now I'm hoping for a TTC proposal on our anniversary in October, but he isn't ready to commit to a date right now.

Welcome to the board and enjoy waiting with us! Rant or rave anytime :-)

Hi Becki,
Thanks for the welcome. Is there a specific reason that you're waiting or is your husband just not ready yet?

It actually seems to be flying by, but I think that's because I'm so distracted with all the things that will be happening in between. Our main reasons for waiting are for us to get married (we're getting married this summer), for me to finish graduate school (I'll be graduating in December), and then for our one-year wedding anniversary. So everything else that's going on is a great distraction sometimes! I feel like I just got engaged yesterday, but now we're a little over six months away from the wedding - yikes!

Summer 2011 will be here before I know it, I'm sure! :-D

We're mostly just waiting for things to fall into place and for him to feel ready for the huge responsibility. He's very excited and says lots of adorable things about things he wants to buy our kids and places he wants to take them, but when the question comes of "when," he just isn't sure. A couple weeks ago he said, "sometime in the next two years," and when he's in a good mood he says he can't wait, but when he's in a bad mood he doesn't want to think about it.

Plus, financially we're stable don't have a lot of surplus cash, so paying for daycare or me staying home would be extremely difficult, so we're focusing on trying to save up. Meanwhile, I'm also trying to lose weight to have a healthier pregnancy.

Also, I just got started at a new job 3 months ago, so I want to be there awhile and get established before taking a maternity leave. So overall, I think this August through October would be perfect, but he's still not positive and doesn't want to set a date until he feels ready for sure.

Sounds like very valid reasons to wait. It's hard though, isn't it?

Welcome to the board!

Your kids are adorable! It must be fun... and a handful to have twins! I have always wondered what that is really like. It runs in our family and i'm hopeful that maybe when we go for #4 (we only have two kids now) it will be twins. Do you have nomalcy yet?

I'm so glad you were able to conceive and i'm sorry that it was so difficult for you. That must have been a rollercoaster of emotions!

Thank you, Meagan. It was hard but since we only ever had the two, we didn't know the difference between having one vs two. It's just always been that way. We started to get back to "normal" once they were sleeping through the night (around 6 months). Now, I know no other way ;) But I'm so ready for a change.
