Hi. My name is Laura. I'm almost 26 and DH is 24. We've been married for nearly two years. We've decided to start trying at for our first baby at the end of August/beginning of September. I'm a teacher so ideally I'd like to have our baby next May or June so I can have the summer off with it. If we can't get pregnant quickly then we'll wait to try again until next February. I don't want a baby in the summer or September. It's too hard being a teacher. Anyway, I've wanted to do this for a long, long time, but now that we're getting closer, I'm getting nervous. I suppose it's just regular jitters.

Hi Laura,

That's great that you guys have a timeframe set already. Nervousness is normal - it's a big change.

My SIL is a teacher and in the same predictament. Ideally would like to conceive in August/September. Actually, as a college student, my hopes are about the same. I'd really love to be due in May, so I coul have the whole summer off (I won't be done with school until I'm at least 28, so have to plan that one ;)).

Are you taking any prenatal vitamins or doing any last minute TTC stuff?

Good luck! Your summer break should be creeping up, right?

Hi Jamie,

Thank you for the welcome. I had my yearly appointment in April. My doctor told me start taking vitamins and to get at least three servings a milk a day. The vitamins are easy but I'm trying to start drinking that much milk. I've always had a glass a day but it's hard work getting used to drinking that much a day. Oh well, I've got several months to get used to it. What about you? Do you have a time frame yet?

Hi,

No, no timeframe really. It always changes. It was supposed to be last September, then this Spring. Something always manages to go wrong. I had a really stressful year and managed to gain weight, so I'd really like to get down a few sizes before trying. I also start a new school in fall. I think, once we hit fall, we're just going to play it by ear.

I'm actually forcing myself to drink 3 glasses of milk a day also, for weight loss reasons. I find if I drink one when I wake up, then one with lunch and dinner, I do okay on remembering. I find I'd rather drink milk than soda most of the time.

I have my annual tomorrow, and have to discuss some health related things with the Dr. See how that goes. :)
