Sooo me and my DH have a 1 year old little girl...Izzie.

We have both always wanted more kids. But after Izzie was born and up until recently he decided that he just wanted Izzie.

Lately he has said that he would consider another. Just not right now.

So yesterday was our 3 yr wedding anniversary and we were talking. He said that he only wants two kids and that he really needs the assurance that after that pregnancy that that would be it. I told him that I have always only wanted two and that I couldnt imagine having more than that (of course twins or whatever are a possiblity and we are both okay with that).

Sooo I said what about next anniversary we reconsider this topic again. and he said that sounded like a really good plan!! He did say that he wanted to get the BIG V if we had another.

Soo I am back here. I was here a few months back lurking a lot. But now I am back and I am excited.

This next year is crucial. I just got a new job in June and I am 'the boss' I need to get this place in shape before I even think about getting pregnant. I also want to establish savings and purchase a second car. Also possibly move. Soo that is a lot to accomplish in the next year to year and half. We just said next summer we would discuss it.

Soo I am here and waiting to try.

Hi Mandy, I remember you, welcome back! I'm Becki, I'm 24 and my DH Paul is 26, we're WTT for our first. Maybe in about a year but we have no date yet. Congrats on getting him to come around and agree to consider #2!

I've been on this board and WTT for about two years and a half years now. A lot has changed for me since then - DH I have changed jobs several times, we bought a townhouse. Everything is in place except for DH not quite feeling ready, and our financial situation isn't ideal. We get by fine on our own at the moment, but there isn't leftover money we could spend for daycare, so any childcare situation would require a lot of creativity.

Congrats on being almost ready. Do you have any family that can help with childcare...or can you and DH work opposite shifts?

WE were not ready for our first in that sense. But everything else was great. We figure you can never be 100percent ready. But 90 percent is great!!!

We ended up using family and friends to help with childcare. I adjusted my shifts at work and dh works mostly afternoon and evening. We also found a sitter that would let us do drop in when we absolutly had no one else!

Now this fall DH has to go back to work (he has slower to no work for the summer). So now we found a great sitter who will charge us hourly and only for the horus used. It is great!

Good luck with getting your last few ducks in a row!

I am really excited to be back and hoping that we can really try next summer to discuss things. :-)

Thanks! :-)

Our parents all work, so unfortunately we don't have any easy family around to do childcare during the day, but they'll definitely be willing evening/weekend babysitters. :-) My mom's a teacher so she might be able to help during summers, but I haven't asked her yet about how much she is willing/able to do during her time off.

My DH's hours are very standard, 9-5:30. My work is a bit more flexible, but it can occasionally be unpredictable if there's breaking news - I'm a journalist.

I am definitely thinking about switching to WAH freelance, though.

What if you do PArt time work and part time WAH freelance? Not sure how that would work but that way you could say your avaiable for night/weekend breaking news but then do WAH during the day to supplement not having as many hours.

Thanks, yeah, I am thinking something like that might work. I'm not positive what all of my options would be at my current company and if they'd be willing to work something like that out, but they might. I'm thinking once I'm PG and announce it I'll talk to them and suggest options, and see what they would be willing to accommodate. If not, maybe PT work somewhere else plus freelancing at home.

You would be surprised how cool employers can be if they really value you as an employee. Have you also looked into home daycares for talked to friends. I just found a sitter through my SIL. She is unlicenced but just watching our kids and is cheap. Look into it. There are older retired grandma types out there who want to supplement their Social Security or retirement.

If you go to church ask around. Or if you work with a variety of people ask around. :-) Things WILL fall into place! It is hard to trust that- but it really will work out. I have been there. lol.

On another note...I am super jealous of your weight loss ticker....how did you do that? Congrats!! 85lbs!! :-)
