Waiting is making me crazy

Hello. I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Erin, I am in my early 20's, have been with my husband for 5 years married for one year. I found out I was pregnant last month (not planned) and ended up having a miscarriage. We are not in the right place right now to have a child. We are both students and I work part time. We get financial assistance from our parents and are on my husbands student health insurance which sucks. Having a child right now is not something we are ready for. After the miscarriage though, I really want a baby. We have decided we are going to TTC after I am done with school and start working full time in 2 years. That seems like such a long wait right now. How do you make it through the long waits like this?

Thanks!

Hi Erin,
Welcome to the board, I feel your pain! I'm so sorry about the miscarriage. I can definitely understand why the excitement of that pregnancy and sadness of the loss would bring on the desire to get pregnant again, even if it wasn't planned to begin with.

I've been waiting quite awhile too, and probably still have a year to go, so I hope you stick around the board. I've been on WTT for about two years already!

My name is Becki and I'm your CL. I'm 24 and my DH Paul is 26. We are both working full-time in entry-level jobs currently, we bought a townhouse at the end of 2008, and we're waiting until he feels ready and for our financial situation to feel more stable. I'm also working on losing weight and trying to build our savings.

The best thing that has helped with baby fever for me is to keep busy and work on creative things. You sound pretty busy already with school and work, but do you have any hobbies? Maybe a club or activity would help keep you distracted during the long wait.

Also, knowing that I'm working toward TTC in some small way helps a bit, like putting money in the savings account and working on my weight loss. When I achieve a small accomplishment, I try to remember that it's one step closer to being ready.

Other than that, trying to enjoy the couple time we have now!

Proud CL of Waiting to Try - Thanks for my sig Katie!

Hi Erin! Welcome to the board!

I'm Victoria, 28 and DH is 41. We're waiting to try our first! I've been waiting for one year and I don't know how baby fever can get any better!! I just try to focus on the reasons why I'm WTT and that I want to be in the best place possible to welcome a child in our family.

It sounds like you're waiting for sound reasons! I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage...
