Hi!

First off I just want to say that there is absolutely nothing wrong with changing your mind! You felt strongly about not wanting to have kids and then you met the right person and realized maybe a child is the right thing for you with the right person, and that is OK. You aren't changing the fact that for a long time you felt strongly about not having children or that that would have been a very valid choice to have. You are just making the personal decision that you do want to add a child to your life. Clearly not all people make this choice and you making it doesn't mean you are a better or worse person then you were before.

So now that you have decided that you want to try your first step is deciding how you want to go about it. Do you want to just stop preventing and see how it goes although this may take a bit longer if you don't know your cycle,or do you want to chart so that you know what the good days are for having sex and can choose to go ahead on those days or abstain if you need an extra month. Then from there you can decide if you feel like some books on the subject would stress you out or make the situation easier. If you think they would help we have a lot of good suggestions. Finally just because you say Spring 2009 you can always start earlier or later, do whatever feels ok for you!

The only thing that I would do no matter what is start taking a multivitamin with folic acid. The flinstone chewables have comparable folic acid to a prenatal and having a supply of 6 months of folic acid in your system has been shown to be very beneficial for building up the brain and preventing certain birth defects in babies.

I'm Ashley by the way and my soon to be husband- 11 days! and I are waiting until next December to start trying:)
