I feel that it's time for a new thread since the other one is getting long!

It helps me tremendously to talk about my weight loss on here! In fact, I gained nine pounds when I stopped...So it's time to get real again!

You don't have to write your weight down: you could use percentages!

Your starting weight: 166 in February 2010
Your weight now: 154: was at 145 last April
Your goal: 127 or less
Your height: 5'2.5"
How are you doing it? I believe I did a too strict diet I couldn't keep up with, so now, even though I won't lose as quickly, I want to just focus on nutrition and exercise.

Good idea! I have been away from weight loss chat so long, and finally this week began to get serious again. I was so sick of counting calories, even though it helped me lose 90 pounds in the past. Over the weekend I picked up a new book called "The Self-Compassion Diet," and it's just what I was looking for! It focuses on mediation and mindful eating as the path to weight loss.

I began reading the first few chapters and realized it's what I needed--to remind myself to simply pay attention to what I'm eating. It doesn't have to be a chore like counting calories, but simply to recognize when I am hungry and stop eating when I am full, rather than eating because it's on my plate. I've been following this philosophy for 4 days now, and I'm feeling very hopeful! No change on the scale yet, but that's ok, I just feel I am eating more intuitively and doing the right things!

Your starting weight: 287 in November 2006
Your weight now: 202
Your goal: 170 or less
Your height: 5'6''
How are you doing it? See above, this is my new plan. I lost the last 85 pounds using caloriecount.com, but after 5 years, I'm ready for a new approach.

Your starting weight: 234
Your weight now: Same
Your goal: 150
Your height: 5'5"
How are you doing it: Weight Watchers. I joined 3 weeks ago (this is my third weigh in coming up this week) and I lost 2 lbs the first week but gained it back...stupid Labor Day! Now I'm back and its working well for me again. Also doing Zumba with my husband on the Wii, and Pilates. My goal is to be 175 by my next pregnancy (which is hopefully by next summer). I'm super motivated...Im so disappointed in myself. I had lost 40 lbs post pregnancy, just by breast feeding,

Your plan sounds great, Ruby! It's okay, we've all been there: gaining back the weight and all! I am struggling so much myself...

I'm so pumped up!!! I'm taking an intro bellydancing class tomorrow :) There is a deal website and I got just about 50% off a 6 week course. So what is normally 80 bucks, I got for 45. My girlfriend and I are taking it together, I'm so excited :) This is waaay outside my comfort zone but I'm really excited.

That is AWESOME, especially because your friend will do it with you! Sounds like so much fun! I have a friend who teaches bellydancing and I have thought about taking her class, but haven't done it! Let us know what you think of it.

I am interested as well in knowing how it went! A Pilates instructor once suggested it to me to help strengthen my hips!

How is everyone doing? I haven't weighed myself in a while...I have not been making the greatest food choices lately, but I am taking one day at a time...

I'm doing pretty well! I lost 3 pounds in the last 2 weeks, so I feel good about that. I bought myself a new journal today too, because I am trying to start journaling about my weight loss efforts again. I have been focusing on my body's hunger signals and definitely feeling much worse if I overeat.
