Hey guys!

Let's have a chat thread about our daily struggles and successes with losing weight before TTC! Please introduce yourself. Let's do some questions:

-How has your weight journey been in the past?

-Where are you at now?

-How much do you want to lose before TTC?

-What techniques are you using?

-How can we help cheer you on?

I've been on the weight loss train for a long time now - Back in college (2006) I was up at 287. I lost about 40 pounds before my wedding in 2007, and since then slowly lost about 40 more. But I'd still like to lose 30-40 before TTC, and I've been off and on the wagon. Losing over 100 pounds successfully is a long ride.

Currently I'm at 203.5 and feeling great about it, because I've lost 7 just this month. My biggest asset during these four years has been counting calories on a calorie-tracking website, and I only manage to lose when I keep up with logging. Lately I've also been doing light exercise in fun ways - yoga that I enjoy, ping-pong with DH and ice skating.

I would love to get some lively conversation going to keep us all motivated!

Becki -- woo hoo! I'm so excited for you to be under 200. I know how big that goal is for me, so I'm totally thrilled for you!

That sounds like fun, Annie! I weigh 148 lbs today. I have only lost a few pounds since last summer and am so bummed about it. I am now determined to lose 21 lbs by July!!

Cassie - It helps me keep motivated actually - if I didn't do it every day I would stop caring. It keeps me focused and if it's gone down, it motivates me to keep up the good work.

Annie - Thank you so much!! Great job on the jazzercise! And I agree, it's all about planning - if I plan on going out to dinner and therefore eat lighter the rest of the day, it works out fine. The problem is snap decisions. Like the one I made last night to go out for ice cream, and today to get pizza and beer. I've had a stressful week, and did really well with diet/exercise every day for the last week or two. Gotta get back on track now.

It's all about trying again. Starting over. Constantly, I've found that I'm starting over on the weight loss. But if you just accept that as the way it works, it's easier.

Mine alters so much day by day. Course I work three long days then I ( well I'm suppose to ) have three days at home. So its crazy.

Well I gained 2 lbs this week. Which is a small victory considering I have been gaining and losing the same 5lbs for the last month. I started out so good this week then things went to crap. Hopefully this week goes better.

How are the rest of you doing?

It could just be a normal fluctuation!

I don't have my scale here and my parents' is a bit non functional and gives me two additional pounds! So I will try to just take my measurements. They have a threadmill and a stationary bike, plus I brought my weights, so hopefully I will lose some lbs this month. It's time I also resume my Pilates classes.

I feel like I am in a rut with weight watchers. Since they changed the plan and everything. When I originally lost all my weight I did it by counting calories. I know a few of you are doing that. Are you using any online tools or anything to monitor it? I'm just tired fo paying $18 a month and feeling like I don' t have time to use it. I used to have a set thing but now that all the points have changed. I just want something easy that I can do and not cost . I found one called my-calorie-counter.com Anyone used it?

I use caloriecount.com, which I think is great. I've used it off and on for more than four years.

-How has your weight journey been in the past?

ALWAYS been the 'fat girl'. I have been heavy since birth, hitting the 200 pound mark in middle school, my heaviest was 270 in my sophomore year of highschool, got down to 210 my senior year of highschool..........weighed 235 after a broken engagement, then got depressed and got a kick in the butt to lose and got down to my lowest point in my adult life, which is 195 pound in the Fall of 2008, met my current hubby that same Fall, got married in May of 2010, started being Mrs. Betty Homemaker and baking all the time (my weakness, I'd bake pastries, cakes, pies, etc all day if I could, it's my passion!), needless to say, I'm up to 242.7 as of this morning's weigh in.

-Where are you at now?

I am currently 242.7 butt naked! lol. I would love to start TTC this Fall/Winter.

Hugs!! Losing weight while having baby fever is so frustrating...I know that if I hadn't been so stressed this past year that I would have reached my goal by now! And I am starting to really want to TTC soon, but need to go on the waiting list for a knee MRI...I know that losing more weight will help with my knee pain as well.

Poor you, I hate acid reflux! I used to have it a while back due to stress, not fun! Nexium really helped me.

How exciting about your move! Good luck with Weight Watchers, I've heard it's a good program! Jennifer Hudson looks great!

Well I have been eating somewhat healthy lately, but my parents are feeding me quite well with wine, so I don't expect anything....The exciting news is that we are moving this weekend!! So besides the upcoming birthdays (I really should be more careful anyway), I really want to eat really healthy soon.
