Hey guys!

Let's have a chat thread about our daily struggles and successes with losing weight before TTC! Please introduce yourself. Let's do some questions:

-How has your weight journey been in the past?

-Where are you at now?

-How much do you want to lose before TTC?

-What techniques are you using?

-How can we help cheer you on?

I've been on the weight loss train for a long time now - Back in college (2006) I was up at 287. I lost about 40 pounds before my wedding in 2007, and since then slowly lost about 40 more. But I'd still like to lose 30-40 before TTC, and I've been off and on the wagon. Losing over 100 pounds successfully is a long ride.

Currently I'm at 203.5 and feeling great about it, because I've lost 7 just this month. My biggest asset during these four years has been counting calories on a calorie-tracking website, and I only manage to lose when I keep up with logging. Lately I've also been doing light exercise in fun ways - yoga that I enjoy, ping-pong with DH and ice skating.

I would love to get some lively conversation going to keep us all motivated!

Rebekah: Thanks!! That's awesome that the video is working for you, stick with it! Videos can get boring quickly so definitely pick up some new ones if you can. I don't know if you like yoga, but I recommend Lose Weight and Feel Great by Ana Brett and Ravi Singh. I had never tried yoga before, but this video changed my life!

Victoria: I sympathize, I have a cold now too and feel awful. My whole neck and sinuses are killing me. :-( I'm so sorry DH isn't ready all of a sudden - sound like he just got nervous. Have you had a chance to sit down and really talk through your fears? Or maybe he needs to confide in a friend about it.

Thanks, Becki, I hope you feel better! I have not had a proper chance to discuss it as we are still both sick, but I sat down and calculated our budget yesterday and I told him there is a good chance we will have our emergency fund back by June 2012, which made him feel better! His new job is still recent. He loves it but he has a lot of work ahead of him...

The shopping went great....me and my mom had fun. And I'll defininitely try that video sometime! Ladies,I'm really down today! I looked on the Wii Fit and when I purchased it in January of 2010, I was 209 pounds and felt great.........and then I look at my weight now, 242.7 and I'm like "What the $#*& happened?" Lol!! I still can't believe I let myself get to this point. You know you look at people on these tv shows that weigh like 1,000 pounds and you think, "How did they let themselves go like that?".....and I can only think that these skinny 110 pound girls think the same about me, like, "I wonder how she got herself that big?". /sigh. I'm not sure why

(((Hugs))) You are not a failure! You are taking your own health into your hands. It is important to lose it slowly as opposed to a crash diet, so you are doing the right thing! Don't be so hard on yourself!

Thanks for the hugs, I need plenty of them! lol.....I weighed a day early because I am spending the night at my mother's house tonight to go with her to a doctor appointment and won't have my scale................I gained 0.9 pounds this week (God knows how??). So in total, I've only lost 5.8 pounds since February. I want to lose 40-45 pounds by my birthday in mid-august because that's when we were going to start ttc, but at this rate, it's like I go two steps forward and then I go 3 steps back on an weekly basis. I think I am so hard on myself because it's not just me I have to worry about anymore. It's the only barrier between me and having my miracle baby. It's up to me to carry our child and to make sure it is healthy. It's a lot of pressure and losing a pound feels like I'm on top of a mountain, just one step closer to my baby. Then when I gain, it's a thousand times harder because of the goal in hand. Losing weight is seriously a full time 24/7 job and I'm so burned out, but I have no choice but to push on! =)

I think you are doing great! Do you take your measurements? That is usually a better indicator than the scale!

I was shocked to see 145.2 yesterday! I have been sick and not exercising, so it's weird. I think I have a sinus infection and need antibiotics. How is everyone doing?

So sorry about the sinus infection :-( I hope those antibiotics do their thing quickly.

I am not doing as well - didn't weigh in yet today, but yesterday I was back up to 199. Boo.

The scales are driving me crazy too. lol. I gained 0.9 pounds weighing Monday, and I weighed again today and I lost 1.1 pounds. I just did get done with AF, so maybe it was excess water weight, good news is, I didn't actually gain this week, I actually lost 0.2 pounds! I'll take it! haha. Total loss of 6.9 pounds, currently 242.5----- ideally 42.5 pounds to go before ttc #1. =)

I almost never weigh in during my periods, I find you brave! I'm so bloated that I know the number will be higher.

Becki: Thanks! I am doing a little better. I will wait a couple of days and see, if not I will go see my doctor...Perhaps you have water retention?
