Here's the thread to chat and encourage each other through our weight loss journeys!! You don't need to write your actual weight down or pounds loss: you can use percentages!

Your starting weight: 166 in February 2010
Your weight now: I will come back to this as I haven't weighed myself in a while!
Your goal: 127 or less
Your height: 5'2.5"
How are you doing it? The past few days have been good! I am eating healthy food and have been cycling on my bike for 30-40 minutes plus using dumbbells and ankle weights. I also just changed my shoes which had been making me quite tired, so that helps!

Welcome, Veronica! :)

I too hold my weight in the thighs which is healthier but hard to get rid of!! It's been a while since I've taken walks with DH!

Welcome faeriewings!

So it sounds like WW is the way to go since I can't find the time to exercise. Anyone know if they have free or cheap online memberships? We're on a budget right now so unfortunately can't afford a diet membership right now. I might also just start a food diary again as I did that in the past and it really opened up my eyes to what I was eating.

I have just been eating crap the whole month. Feb. is a tough month for me, food temptation-wise. First it was my birthday, then V-Day, then DH brought my favorite dessert home with him from overseas (baklava) so of course we've been eating it almost every night so it "doesn't go bad", then we had DD's birthday party last weekend and lots of leftover cake and again, didn't want it to "go bad". For Lent, I've decided to give up fast food because I've been hitting that too often lately for breakfast especially. We're pretty good about staying in for dinner.

My justification lately with sweets and treats has been "I'm working so hard at school/work/mommyhood, I deserve it." Well, all those "I deserve it" moments are starting to add up on the scale. :-/

Oh I see what you mean, Christine! And with the winter, I just haven't taken as many walks as I should...

Unfortunately I think the only option with weight watchers is to pay for the plan.

Christine,

WW does have an online membership plan. There is also Fitday.com which is free and Sparkpeople.com too. Good luck!

AFM,

I'm on the Beachbody train! I'm waiting for my first workout videos, Turbo Jam and Rockin Body. My friend Katie has been doing Beachbody for about 2 years and its been amazing for her and now she's a coach and certified personal trainer. I've been maintaing my loss from my flu back in December (10 lbs in 3 days, totally dont recommend it!) and motivated to keep going. I've been paying close attention to quantity of food too and portions which has been helpful. I'll probably be taking another dance class too, either bellydancing or burlesque.

Thanks ladies for all the website recommendations!

Ruby - Great to have you here! Keep up the great work and how exciting about the dance classes! Maybe after I'm done with grad school I can look into bellydancing again. I so miss it. :-(

Well I feel like a big idiot! I am almost at the weight I was when I started losing weight so I put it back on by not caring and not exercising much. I don't eat fast food and know what to do: I guess I let stress and life get to me! So it is back to cycling and walking. I have knee pain so I can't do certain exercises. I don't care at this point though: I just want to get PG soon!

(((HUGS))) Victoria! Weight loss is such a hard battle. Hopefully with spring coming up, it will inspire all of us to get outside and get moving!
