Hi im new to this board. I am alyssa (22) and my 4 month old is Kay-Lei. My bf and i are thinking about when a good time to try for #2 would be. I think i want to wait til Kay is in school... atleast pre k and he thinks that in 2 yrs will be good. I have 40 pounds to lose still and i dont think that my weight will drop any faster. I have been drinking plenty of water, walking every chance i get (live in upstate ny so weather permits when i can walk) and eat healther then ever. I really miss my pre pregnancy body and loved being pregnant. He doenst want to wait as long as i do because he doesnt want to feel old when the 2nd comes around. My worry is that when we do finally conceive with baby 2, there will be a surprise. He is a twin and i have lots of twins in my family, and after Kay i couldnt handle 2 babies. Shes a hard baby sometimes and i say that lightly. When we forst brough her home she was great. she slept and only creid to eat. at about 3 weeks she became clic and i couldnt handle 2 babies like that. My bf works 2nd shift so he misses out on all that and doesnt understand the stress it causes. Especially when i came back to work. I was usually up until 2 with her. He gets home at 1230 but has to shower and eat and let the dog out and try to bore himself to sleep. and when she would wake he would get up with her. Its a little better bc shes sleepibng at 10 at the latest now. I dont think it would be fair to kay to add another child and possibly 2 to our lives and schedule. shes very clingly and if that doesnt change then theres the jealous sibling thing which later turns into sibling rivals. not something i am personally looking forward to. I dont have famiyl to help me and his family has stepped out of our lives because they got upset when we told mil that she was taking over too much. *I know this is probably confusing but can i get someinsight from someone please?

:) thank you for your input and i think being pregnant in the winter months would be so much better then in the summer months. your body gains extra blood and that makes you so much warmer!!! I was dying over the summer from the heat. Good luck and all goes as planned

Hi Alyssa!

Welcome to the board:) I don't have any children yet- we are waiting until this June to start trying, but I do understand your worries.

I think in your case it probably makes sense to just let it go and not worry about it for a year and then reconsider starting in 2 years or later. Your feelings may have changes in a years time and there really isn't any reason to decide anything yet.

I'm Ashley 27 and my husband and I are hoping for a late spring or summer baby:)
