.......woodwork.

I met w/3 of my old pals that I used to run around with back in my 30's for lunch today. I am the oldest. Two are 63 and one is 62, me at 65. Guess what question they had for me.....the Medicare how to. LOL. Seems like just yesterday it was ME who was asking all the questions. We laughed and talked and ate lunch and then went for a walk on a wetlands pathway close to where we had lunch. What a lovely day and I got to show off my new car! I don't get to do that much. Only one is still married, and oddly enough she is the one we all thought would never make it w/the guy that she married. He was a wild one. But she tamed him I guess and have been married for 30 plus yrs.

I love the fact that my old friends are thinking about me and actually acted on it. Those are true friends I'd say.

One of the ladies I had met later thru other acquaintances from my working life, one was my best friend (the married one), and the other I met thru her. It was these two that I ran around with mainly and the the work related one started going out w/us too. We all loved to dance and then relationships got in the way. We all 4 went our separate ways but managed to get together for certain celebrations & whatnot. Like my 2nd wedding.

The first one I mentioned is the one who I went to see in Germany as she and her at the time b/f were living & working there. The three of us traveled thru Europe for 10 days.

The gal that I went to see "Footloose" with was my best friend from the 6th grade on until she married right outta highschool and I was nowhere near the settling down type at that time. Thus, enter the other gals. We were honkey-tonkin' friends for more than a decade and have tons of memories. I can't wait to meet w/them again.

Oh wow, isn't it funny how so many people are intertwined? But that you don't find out til later I mean. I was just talking about that w/my friend I had since 6th grade and I just did the math....we met in 1956!!!

I'm jealous of your trip. Have you ever been on a cruise? I have not. Came close once but that was the end of it. (me and 2nd dh contemplated getting married on a ship) How long w/the cruise be and where w/y'all be going? Sounds wonderful and don't you dare back out b-cuz of the "brother!" How many offers like this w/ya get in your lifetime? Go for it baby! Waaaaa, I wanna go!
