What do you do for exercise? I find that I could spend all day on this computer or reading a book. So 4 wks ago, I started to focus on getting off my behind & moving more than to walk the dog. I need to be clear here. I HATE exercise but I'm really trying now. I try to spend an hr every day doing something or a combination of activities. I try to do 15 min of yoga almost everyday that focuses on stretching. Then I try do time on the treadmill & the time depends on whether it's a fast pace or just a relaxed pace. I also use the wii which the kids insisted we buy & that has wii fit. I have a couple of dance videos that I also use. Today, I went to a zumba gold class to try it. It was fun & I may try to go weekly. We are heading out tonight to check out curling as a couple & I might check out a line dance class on Fridays. The main reason for all of this activity is to lose weight as I had gained 50 lbs in the last 10 yrs. I have changed our food from the quick, fast food that I used a lot when I was working to cooking homemade helathy meals. I have lost 18 lbs & DH has lost 16. He has less to lose than I do.
All this exercise is also to make friends as we moved from our busy city up to a small town 9 mths ago & frankly I'm lonely. There are only 3 families on our street other than us & they are a similar age but none of them are interested in even talking to us. The previous owners of our place had nothing to do with them & suggested we do the same. I'm friendly so I make a point to say hello or wave when I'm driving by. One woman will chat for a couple of mins but the other 2 families just ignore me. It's hard to break into the country life style.
