They are attracted to the warmth from a baby. Is the baby going in a bassinet when it comes home in their room? I would look into getting the door fixed so that it closes right. Is the door hitting the frame or

I'm very glad we don't have a cat (or dog) right now - I'd be too nervous.

Colleen, I never had a cat w/my kids until they were teens & they brought a kitten home, however, dil & ds had 3 when dgd was born. I have a picture of my dgd when she was about 7 mos. old sitting in her crib w/one of the cats beside her. One cat was always sleeping in her crib but then she hardly ever was because she was sleeping all the time in a swing type cradle.

I always felt uncomfortable w/cats around babies & still do. We have this cat cause Nik got it for her 10th bday. Not sure I would ever get anbother animal again if something happened to tis one.

Anyway if your the least bit uncomfortable w/the cat being around the baby then find a new home for the cat they have ways of getting somewhere they want to be no matter how hard your you try to stop them. If the cat has aything less then a sweet temperment I wouldn't want it around the baby,

Don't know if you can get someone to do this for you, or if you'd want to:

That sounds like a latch issue. What you need to do is find out what way it will latch if at all. That means you hold the handle of the door when you close it and see if by pulling hard up or down you can get it to latch. As our houses settle the doors can get out of square. If you can get it to latch by doing this it's not hard to fix.

By the way

I just thought I would see how things were going with the cat issue?
