Grandsons' first day of school tomorrow.

My DD called earlier and was so upset! She is NOT ready for my grandson to start school. She claims she constantly tells him how much fun it is, what he'll learn etc, but even though today is simply a "meet the teacher" day...she was almost in tears!

She'll be a wreck by the time they pull into the parking lot.LOL My older DD is going to meet them there. I'm so fortunate that they are so close...not only as sisters but where they live as well. She says she'll call later and let me know how it goes. I pity the teacher. DD says she's really going to be scrutinizing her every move/word.HA!

We found some at Kohls for the girls. Also Sears has slims and at Sears if you keep your receipts and the pants or jeans wear out you can take the receipt and the jeans into the store and you can get a brand new pair but it has to be the same size.

Hi Judy. We didn't see any pants with adjustable waists for Bobby, but loads of shorts like that. I so miss buying things for little girls! Lucky you.

I'm not sure about young boys clothing now a days, but with my grandgirls, we have been able to get pants with adjustable waist to help with long legged skinny girls. My 6 yr old needs to go to a 7 for length but they will be too big around. Both my girls are growing like little weeds right now too! At least my daughter can save clothes for my youngest grand.

I totally sympathize regarding the size of clothes! We lucked out with Bobby's pants. He's finally wearing some that the length matches the waste as far as fit.LOL

Hopefully it won't take long for your grandson to get used to his new schedule. I feel for him though. :smileysad:

He is adorable. I hope everything went well at school. Our kids don't start school until Sept 4th here. I'm not really sure if my grandson starts immediately or if it's gradual. He is in senior kindergarten this year & like last year, it's a full day program. He goes from 8:30 to 3 then he goes to daycare until Mommy or Daddy can pick him up. I think that is a long day but it does make him sleep well at night.

My DD brought him a bunch of new clothes but had to take the pants all back as they were too short. So now she has the larger size but must take in the waist as he is too skinny. They put him in daycare last week to start to get him used to the schedule again & getting him there was a disaster. He fought & cried every morning but was fine was he was there. This week he is back to his other grandparents for a week at their cottage then back to daycare next week. Poor kid has spent 4 wks at our place & 2 wks at his other grandparents. It makes it hard to have to go back to school after a fun summer of being spoiled.
