He came home from work last night around midnight and said that he thought he might have popped a lung again.

Colleen, why does T keep popping a lung? Whats causing this? What cause too much fluid for gf? If you/T doesn't get answers about his lung my suggestion is that he go to a pulmonary dr. When the lung collaspes air sacs can get injured & thats not a good thing especially as he gets older, besides there has to be a reason why this keeps happening. Don't let him take we don't know for their answer I took a yr. of that crap & I firmly believe if I had gotten dh to Boston sooner he would never be as bad as he is today.

As for Arizona try to go you need it & you won't be gone that long anyhow. Thats my 2 cents.

Call me stupid but what does being tall & very thin have to do w/popping a lung? Does that happen to alot of tall thin people?

I'm exhausted here been packing all day & I'm the only one doing it so I'm off to bed.

I'm sorry I agree with DEE he needs to see a philologist ASAP! The more often he has a lung collapse, the more damage that is done to the lung, long term damage.

"All, small, air-filled sacs in the lung called "blebs" typically rupture and leak air into the pleural space, leading to the spontaneous pneumothorax. This happens in the cases of tall and thin people, who because of the shape of their lungs and chest cavity, are seemingly more prone to these defects."

Colleen what will the drs. be doing ? Why surgery? I'm sorry but unless he has his own pulmonlogist I wouldn't let any of those drs at the hospital touch him. What floor is he on? Is he on a respiratory floor.

Colleen keep us posted on what is going on. I know holiday weekends are the worst time to get anything done in a hospital. Is he on extra oxygen? Is it really hard for him to breathe? he is working w/only 1 lung something I can understand only to well. Hopefully they will find the leak & repair it quicky.

Dh's trach button fell out, actually he coughed it out New Yrs. Eve. before that he had what looked like a hive on one side & the drs. kept telling me it was nothing just kjeep cleaning it. Long story short after it came out we rushede to the nearest hospital & it is/was a skin infection. The antibiotic cleared it after the second pill, if the docs had been listening to me maybe we wouldn't be in this predictment right now. We went up to Boston & the doc on call put another plug in but it wasn't the right one. Dh is miserable & choking on phelgm. The dr. (resident) admittede to me today that he never read the records & now knows he put the wrong thing in & we good go back to Boston & he could put in the right one but he never has done this before & read the dr. who did it had a hard time. NO we won't be going back till a real dr. the one who put it in is there. They wouldn't even call him. Btw I was told by the resident he we tired if me being angry w/him all weekend. maybe if he had listened & read the records in the computer he would have known what to do in the 1st place when we drove there New Yrs. day.

Ask alot of questions about the surgery what they will be doing & howmmany times the dr. has done this procedure before & what the success rate is for immediate & long term. I'm sorry T feels so lousy oits hard to breathe w/one lung.

As for your dd she lost all rights to know when she decided to mess her life up yet again. If she wanted to know whats going on in the family she would be there w/you now.

I hope the rest of the yr. goes well health wise for us for me this is starting the 2nd. yr. of this & I have no reserve left. We moved Thursday & besides not being able to find anything & having no help I have this to deal with. Not complaing just telling. This was suppose to be a new start for us. I'm sitting here scared to death & I don't mind saying it.

Good luck to T & give him a hug from another gran who has an idea how he may be feeling.
