I've been a long time arthritic, but lately my right hand is killing me!

Years ago a woman at work had carpel tunnel and she wore some sort of brace/sleeve to help with the pain.

I have Carpel Tunnel & you're right. It is extremely uncomfortable. I use a wrist brace, especially at night. You can get them in any drug store. There is an electrical sensitivity test to take b/f they consider the surgery. I've had the test but I'm quite hesistant to get the surgery. It doesn't always work.

I know that it's caused by repetive movment on the hands and wrist. I know that it can be very painfull. The brace can help with it some. There are testto knowforsure ifthatiswhat it is. I also know that the surgery is not easy and many times doesn't help and can even make things worst. My MIL had the surgery once she got to the point of dropping things all the time. After surgery things were a tiny bit better but then she still wasn't able to open things. She couldnt' even stir a pan of soup. It's one ofthe reasons we moved so fast. She couldn't do many things for herself so the day her H walked out we were in the truck and here

I was going to tell yopu my mom had the operation & it didn't work out very well. She was still in pain & had to wear the hand brace. My aunt who had the operation lost all feeling in her hand & never got it back. Thas my 2 cents worth on it. My wrist hurt when I knot for long periods of time, if I give it a break for a few days I'm fine. When I was working parttime as a coat check girl in a club, (the club we went to so i could line dance needed a coat girl one night in a pinch & my career as a coat girl began) my wrist got so bad the pain would make me drop things. Btw, it was the best money job I had, wish I could still do it.

So my adivice would be to not do anything like have it operated on. Seems like you already solved the problem.

Wow, I'm so surprised ~ my mom was in and out and there wasn't a single problem.

Maybe the end result is better when it's done earlier in life???
