Has this ever happened to you?

Two nights ago, my gdil had to go to the ER b-cuz her whole fingernail got ripped off on her pinky finger. She was crying like a baby. I've never had my nails done like that. Only get pedicures. My nails break constantly so I keep them real short. And after what I witnessed, I'll keep my nails short, thank you very much.

See, I offered her a pedicure last wk when I had my feets done. She said yes, but when we got there, she asked for a "full set" instead of having her toes done. We both looked all pretty as we departed their shop. Until that night.

T took her and I stayed home in case the baby woke up (and he did). ER had to drill holes in her nail so that they could sew it back on. I'll spare you the rest of the details but needless to say, she's on pain pills. Whenever she accidently hits her finger, she drops to the floor....that's how painful it is (even on Percoset!)

Today, I woke up to see ALL her nails gone....she doesn't want to go thru that again!

I have never had me nails done or had a pedicure. I know I was told that the nails get ruined when the fake nails are put on because the real nails have to get roughed up. No thank you I'll do my own especially now that you've told this story.

Inever ripped the whole nail off but have ripped it behind the quick. I never was easy on my nails when I had a set on. I would start off just about 1/4" long past the quick when I got a set put on then let them grow out to longer. I had them for about 5 yrs with a 1 yr of time dureing that time. I loved them and wish I could find some place that I liked here. I can't keep polish on my nails never have been able to besides when I had fake ones on. Everyone though they were my real nails. My real nails are very thin and have always had groves running up them. As a teen and young

I don't know how to spell the word for the sound that a big chicken makes. Bt, that is what I'm am when it comes to any pain. And, that just sounds too horrible for me. I do admit I went with my girlfriend one time and got my nails done. She was paying. And, I really didn't like it. They file down your real nail so thin there is hardly anything left of it. And, if one of the fake ones pops off. You just have like a onion paper layer of nail left to try and glue it to. Nope not doing that any more. You can have it thank you very much. And, I have horrible looking nails. I'll just pray for your DGDIL. Just keep us posted how she is doing. Okay??

Oh she's fine, her finger is in one of those metal braces and it doesn't seem to bother her much anymore, thank God cuz she's soooo dramatic! She hasn't been able to give the baby his bath so my gs does it w/tons of prompting. He's fearful of doing it but he does it. Thanks for asking.

P.S. And how are you doing nowadays???

Colleen this might be a good thing really. Your DGS will get to where he is good at bathing his son this way. Of course it would have been better for him to have gotten to that point without her going through this. But, hey what ever works. LOL
Thank you for asking how I'm doing. I'm okay. God has HIS hands on me as always. I just have to keep my faith in HIM that's all.
