Colleen keep that vent mode right in place you are going to need it. Also make sure her CO2 is ok if she's on heart meds. Guinea pigs? You sure got that right, in fact when the nurses on dh's floor in the hospital had their big meeting w/the powers that be the nurse who was speaking for my dh said patiens like dh are treated like guinea pigs. Meds change almost daily, new drs show up & treatments that were working change & etc.

No one cares about the person & they just don't take the time to see a whole person in front of them or a family. Can you call her dr. & leave a message?

Dh fell asleep this morning at the kitchen table for about 5 minutes, fell off his chair & has a fractured collar bone. I had no idea what to do or who to call so the ErR told me to call a rescue which I did & off we went to a different hospital. His CO2 is almost normal off the vent & on the bipap. His blood count has come up being off blood thinners for 6 days & besides being in pain & coughing alot (I think its something here in the house) he's ok. The dr. wanted to keep him & start pumpiong blood thinners into him & check other meds. I firmly said no he was coming home & that was that. he has low iron & I think thats why he fell asleep.

Then dad left for church & left the hot water running in the bathroom at full blast. I need that?

Keep an eye on your mom & suggest they do an ABG blood test for CO2 just in case but it sure sounds like you have an adhd kid on your hands.

Colleen I'm glad your mom is better & I'm sure there will be a show down for the chair. Our cat sleeps in dads recliner when he's not sitting in it. Drives dad nuts because he isn't an animal person & hates that the cat has been in his chair at all. Why has medicaid/medicare decided to not pay for the patch anymore. I would think whats working they would keep.

As for dh he's in alot of pain. he can't sleep at night because he got too used to taking Adivan & alot of night some morphine. Now that he's on the BiPap he can't so besides sleeping w/a mask on he's coming off all those pills & stuff & its not good for his sleeping at all. I just sent him back to bed for a nap. His blood is the problem right now, can't seem to get his iron up & his albumin levels aren't right which could lead to kidney problems. The albimin is from the lasix he has to take to control the fluid. Of course his dr. since July when he got out of the hospital has done only 1 blood test at dh's request to find out if he needed his cholesterol pills. he doesn't but the dr. never said a word about any other chemsty components in his blood. Never asked for a chest xray never did anything but change his trach. After calling on Thursday night at 9PM madder than anything & ending the conversation w/call me in 2 weeks if your still alive I think we need another pulmonologist. Totally inappropriate talk I think. The nurse up in Boston said the drs. there took dh's trach out because they knew it would never be tried here or done. He clearly didn't did it anymore.

The thing I find interesting is that he had been off bloothinners for 6 days & had just restarted them Thursday night & as bad as the hospital thought his blood panel looked over all the numbers were better than they have been. Boston took a test so I know what the numbers were before yesterday. I find this very interesting & think maybe the drs. should do aspirin instead of blood thinners.

Any info on low iron I can get is helpful, since the hospital in all the time he spent there should have exhausted every reason why his blood is low.

How is Tommy? His his lung ok? Waiting for you on that.
