Our weekend started off with a bang. Son-in-law called and asked if we could please pay some $$ on their electric bill or it would be turned off. Lucky for them they have one of my grandsons or else he and my daughter would still be sitting in the dark.LOL!

Saturday was spent chasing down a replacement rear end for dhs' truck. We had to load up the old one, haul it down to SC, pick up the replacement and haul it back then unload it.*whew*

Sunday was a full schedule of cleaning our little water fountains, replenishing the bird feeder, scrubbing 4 dogs then applying flea meds, giving hubby a haircut, then helping him work on the truck rear end. I don't mind. My Dad was a mechanic and taught me so much. Greasy hands don't bother me at all.LOL

So, how was your weekend?

Weekend was good. We went to family party at DH's cousin who moved back to Ontario from Calf. Her DS was in from BC with his wife & 18 mth old DS. It was a long day as they live 2 hrs from DD & 4 hrs from our home. We took Noah home to DD's on Fri but then "surprise" he had to come with us to party as my SIL decided to help a friend while my DD was scheduled to work. We left at 10:30 but SIL didn't get back from helping with gutting a friend's house until after 9:30 that night. DH made a comment that it was amazing how clean SIL was after working hard all day. Then my DS mentioned that he saw SIL leave in the morning with his bathing suit. My SIL has a habit of "using" us for his own pleasure. Good thing I adore Noah but have to admit that I am tired this week after having him for 80% of the last 5 wks. The 50 yr difference makes a difference. lol

Now, I'm dealing with my other children - my parents. Long story short, my stepdad fell last night when his legs & arms suddenly went weak. Apparently, it happened the day before but his arms were ok & he was able to get himself up. They live in a retirement complex (independent living). The paramedics came but stepdad refused to go to hospital. So I drove 90 min to take him to the hospital myself. I've had so much caffeine that I'm hyper & need to come down to get some sleep as I have been up over 30 hrs now. Everything checked out ok but I'm taking him for an emergency referral on Fri to be checked further. He went from being mobile to needing a wheelchair in 24 hrs.

I'm finding that getting time for myself is becoming increasing difficult with caring for Noah (love it) & caring for my parents. I am moving them closer into a more supervised retirement home early next year which should help. Travel time will then be 40 mins rather than 3 hrs each trip.

Think I'm going to try my DD's suggestion & have a glass of wine then lie down to read. I have theatre tickets with my DS for tonight & don't want to miss this as he leaves on Mon to head back to school in BC. He won't be back home until next May & tonight was to be our time together.

First let me say how sorry I am to learn of your stepdad's issues. I hope it's nothing serious and I'm sure you will be more comfortable having them nearer.

It seems you need some time off! What a full schedule. I'm ashamed to admit that I spend most of my time trying to find things to do. Of course with my "couch tater" attitude, I don't look very hard.LOL

Have a wonderful time at the theater. :smileyhappy:
