Last Mon.(No, I do NOT do the black Fri. thing!) I went out by myself and got what I thought was everything I needed as far as gifts are concerned.

She may save a little money on making baby clothes, but anymore store bought clothes are just a cheap. However, if she likes sewing that is a wonderful hobby and if she is really talented she can make a living altering stuff for other people.

Colleen, mine is a Brothers & I have only used it a few times to make stuff for Nik, like her coustime for the school play 2 yrs ago. Unless she sews alot & enjoys it I don't think its worth it to make just baby clothes. Baby clothes can be alot less expensive if they're bought on sale & after the baby is born g/f may not have the time to sew. I guess I wasn't much help, I was still getting used to mine when my world went to crap. I do however think you got a very good price for it, so either keep the machine & take back the robe & other stuff or vice versa.

Guess my 2 cents wasn't even worth 2 cents.

I have been finding unless you get fabric on a really good sale it's going to cost more to make things. I don't sew a lot any more due to that fact. I'm going to be sewing some after Christmas, I'm making bedding things as I can't find what I want, in the colors I want.

Don't know much about sewing machines (even though I bought myself one on sale many years ago -- I think it was $99 also), but it sews my straight seams and that's all I needed it for (made lots of curtains).

Anyway, all I CAN say is GO BACK TO CASCADE!

Give up Tide NEVER!!!!! As for the dishsoap I have tried others & go back to cascade. I bought liquid dishsoap on sale, I can't pass up a bargain, it was store brand. it was like water & had to use a tone to get a few suds. Nope their are some things I would never change.

Since my $99 machine finally died, I'm now using the freebee machine from my neighbor.
