Looking Forward to the Long Weekend?

First let me say that my thoughts go out to any of you, your families, friends and all others that may be directly affected by Tropical Storm Isaac.

Any plans for Labor Day Weekend? For me this has always marked the beginning of Fall. In part because it's a holiday and too because of the MDA Telethon.

As a child, the telethon was the only tv program that ever stayed on all night! Of course we only had a couple of channels so this was a big deal.LOL

Our plans include some lawn work, more vehicle work and MAYBE a trip to the flea market to sell some of DHs' diecast cars. He only has a ba-zillion of them.LOL

I'm looking forward to the long weekend too.  We finally get to shoot off our July 4th fireworks (we had a burn ban/fireworks ban due drought conditions).  The kids are coming to our house to spend the weekend with us.  So I will have to be planning out my meals and grocery lists soon.  I need to drain our hot tub spa and refill/new filter and the like before this weekend too.  We may get some rain this weekend though from Isaac so our fireworks night will be hopefully Saturday; however, we may move it to Sunday if it rains.

I love fall weather so I will be glad when our highs are in the low 70's for a while.  It's nice to just have the windows open with some fresh air for a while.

Hi Judy, sounds like a great weekend! We're supposed to get rain from Isaac as well. First they had him aimed right over our heads, but now it seems the storm is headed more northwest. That's not so bad, those areas need rain, we get plenty.

I hope you get to use the fireworks, but there's always New Year and it will be on us WAY sooner than we want.

Planning on a quiet weekend. DD has a wedding on the Sunday for her BIL which scews up the whole weekend for them. One DS has gone home to Victoria, BC & the other one is getting ready for school next week. So not likely to see him either.

We will avoid town as we live in the middle of cottage country with only one way into town over a bridge with a light at each end. These are the only lights in town.

This is a good weekend to avoid driving period! Not only the holiday traffic...the "impaired" drivers will abound sad to say. Have a wonderful, quiet weekend.
