Made a fool of myself today

I was out and about today; had a dental appt. and right before I went inside their office, the low back pain I've been having for the last 3 or 4 days suddenly got horrific. So while I was waiting for my appt. (I was early) I called my pharmacy to ask about that one pill I've been taking that I mentioned in another post. I thought it might be affecting my kidneys but she said she didn't think so and told me to see my Dr. I was holding back tears through my dental cleaning and they even offered to do it another day, but I told them to just do it.

So I left and went immediately to that kidney doc's office only to find it empty and closed. My reg. Dr. is right down the road so I drove there knowing that it was closing time but I was in such pain. He was still there but the place was quiet as a mouse, most of the workers had gone home. I saw my doc and just started bawling, trying to tell him what was wrong. Told him that I wished I had never went to that other Dr. blah blah blah. I was a mess. He told me to go to Prompt Care b-cuz the lab people had left for the day and to make an appt. w/him for later in the week.

I did that and luckily it wasn't crowded. I couldn't sit down as that was the worse pain; the process of sitting down and then getting back up, so I paced. Even in the back room I paced. When the Dr. came in, I stood the whole time. Come to find out I have a UTI and a really bad one he said. I wasn't aware of any symtoms for a UTI so it really surprised me. So now I'm on antibiotics and Vicodin for the pain. And I'm finally starting to feel better. How did the cave women do it? Did they just die or what? So anyway, I get to go back Thurs. to see my reg. Dr. and feel like a real jerk for barging into his office at closing time, but it's quite possible I'm not the first to do such a thing, right? Pls. say yes LOL

If you ask me it was the smart thing to do. UTI's can be really bad & if not takin care of lead to a kidney infection. Good job on your part for going to your doc.

have a problem here w/Nik having very bad diarehea. I think its from the topical pad she's using on her face. Its called clindymycin & it can cause very severe life threathening diarehea. Her derm told me unlikely but stop using it then called be back to see how she was doing & to tell me to call her primary. Now thats unlikely a doc calling back. She still has it today but not as bad. She won't be using the clindemycin pads anymore she has been complaining of stomach cramps & off & on diearhea for 2 weeks now & she started on that stuff about 1 month ago. Its full blown now & I don't think its all been a coincidence.

Drink alot of cranberry juice its suppose to be good for UTI's & alot of water. Hope your better soon. The heat could have helped bring that on.

That's not making a fool out or yourself that is doing what you should do. I used to get those all the time and they are no fun and your back hurting like crazy is one of the signs. I want to let you know I have gone to the Dr's right at closing time before and will again if I feel I need to do so. Rest and lots of water and crandberry juice are good for you avoid other juices as they are full of acid.

I was going to post yesterday morning but DH called and I had to be at the Dr's early for my sceond pain management

There seems to be a lot of arthritic growth on the back side of my spine. This was making it hard for them to get to the back side of the epidermal area to do the injection there was only a very small area to get into for the pain management shot. I will be talking to my primary about this and how to determine what kind of arthritis I have. Then work set up a game plan for treatment.
