Saw my friend this afternoon and I explained to her that you both currently have medical insurance thru your retirement.

Thank you so much for clearing this up for me/us. Mine is taking $110 out of my SS which is more than half of my SS, so I'll be getting a very small check from now on from SS. But at least I'm covered health-wise. And that's what us old folk need it appears!

I guess the amt. varies from state to state? Oh, and I just got my "Medicare & You" book today in the mail.

P.S. Little side note here...I just looked at myself in a mirror that is leaning against a wall in front of me (it's going in the garage sale) I'm getting the turkey neck!!! Oh how I hate this getting old business!!!!

Colleen, thats what dh has, medicare & the supplement of AARP because where he retired he didn't get any helath coverage after he was retired. He was in the hospital a very long time & so far we haven't gotten too many bills. For some reason there was a laspse of coverage when we went back home to Maine & he was rushed back to the hospital & we have a bill from there for over $9,000.00.

As for the mirror I think we should just throw them all away. lol My sister is coming up to visit in a few weeks & she always looks so good then I remeber she has had nits & tucks. At least your not gaining 5 lbs. a week like I am.
