They got a late start & then it took longer in recovery because when they put the tube in her throat her heart rate fell & they had to give hermeds to bring it up. Then in recovery it spiked about 3 times. Also when they 1st put the mask over her nose & mouth she wasn't falling asleep so they up to up it some & out she went. I'm sure she was afraid but no one would have known it.

I'm so happy things are going to be ok. If they can fix her eyelid that would be great. You are very lucky to have Nik and she is lucky to have both of you.

After this last month and YDD being at the hospital or the Dr's every week sometimes every day, even her being in the hospital

Squeak I sure hope those drs. can figure out what is going on. I feel so bad for your dd having a headache for this long. I wouldn't be able to think either if I had a headache as long as she has. Please keep us updated.

The Dr called off sick today so we will be seeing the Dr that put her in the hospital a month ago, not the one that we didn't' like. She has to pass the one class but she could fail 4 classes and still have all the credits she needs to graduate on time. We picked up the paper work for home bound lessons for her and they want us to sign a paper that allows them access to all of her medical records Dr notes and test and all the scans. The paper work states once they get these they can give them to anyone and not be bound by Federal privacy laws. I don't feel this is something I'm willing to sign.

This is one of the reasons that schools drove me crazy. I wouldn't sign those papers those papers are personal medical records & they don't need to have them in their files for anyone to look at & read. You have documentation that she was in the hospital & has been sick. let them call DFS don't worry about it you need to take care of your dd. Just when you have enough stress going on the school wants to add more. Like I said this is one reason these schools drive me crazy.

BTW, last yr. when dh was in the hospital the school in Maine couldn't have been more understanding, they didn't want to add any more stress to dd or to me. I still can't believe how good they were. We need more schools like that one.

I know I haven't said much up until now. But, know that I have been keeping up with this. And, I have been praying for Nik's eye sugery, and the headaches too. And, the you too! And, really hoping everything works out. But, as far as signing any of those papers for the school. Or letting them have any rights to medical records, NO WAY!! That's why we have all of those patient rights in effect now. Heck, you have to sign your life away when you go to see any doctor, counselor, or have an x-ray done now days. Why should you give them free access to all her medical records? It doesn't seem right to me. All I ever have to have for Eli is a signed doctors excuse. And trust me he has had to take off a lot of days from school. So, let them do what they want. As long as you have doctors to back you up I can't see where they have the right. Isn't that invasion of privacy? I would ask someone about it. Say call one of the doctors and ask them. Just a thought. Until then keep us posted. Like Dee said. Know that we're here for you. And, praying for you. Lovingly, & Prayerfully,

Well said Gwen, it would be an invasion of privacy & who knows where that info would surface. No way no how would I sign anything like that.
