Had a fun & busy day yesterday but it was very productive. Was out to lunch with a gilrfriend when we decided to drop by a bridal salon to see what syle of dress I might like for my DS's wedding next May. I found a dress that I fell in love with but it was the only one & they couldn't re-order as it was a custom. Quick call to my future DIL & she raced with DS down to see the dress. They agreed that it was perfect & so we expanded lunch to include them & my goddaughter with her 2 mth old DS. After lunch, DIL & I went into another shop where she found her wedding jewellery which I brought for her as her "something new". We looked at this beautiful silk flower bouquets made with jewels, pearls & feathers. DIL has made her bouquet & the bridesmaids but wanted something to take hers up a level. So she got some great ideas. When we got home, I remember a pin of my grandmother's that was red & clear crystals. When I showed it to DIL, she was thrilled. So now she has "something old & something borrowed". I also found earning to go with my dress.

Then the kids went to a Scottish shop & I headed home. They were staying with us & when they got home, they said they had decided that they wanted pocket squares for DS & all his groomsmen plus a bow tie & vest for our DGS. They wanted them all done in one of the family tartans. They were very pleased when I pulled out the material I had brought last week hoping they would want to use this. So now I have a bit of sewing to do. Thankfully, there isn't a lot of sewing unlike for DD's wedding last year. Then I made 140 gingham napkins, about 10 table toppers, several swags & 2 flower girl dresses which ended up not getting finished as I became quite ill the week before the wedding. I spent most of her wedding day in bed. Thankfully her wedding was at our home. I am hoping I get to enjoy this wedding & all the parties.

What a fun day! Both my girls had very simple weddings so there wasn't a whole lot to do. The something old I gave my oldest daughter was a bracelet her Great Great Grandmother wore for her wedding.
