Kathy, get a security system, they are well worth the money. You can set it up while your in the house & sleeping at night. The military wives always used them in Fl that way. Also if E is home alone it can be activated for stay, she can move around the house freely buit if someone attempted to force a door or come in an unlocked door the alarm would go off. Check into it & see what it would cost.

The police never saw a man walking anywhere? That seems very strange. Too bad you weren't a few minutes earlier coming home.

Kathy, If you can afford it get the security system. And, one thing that has been circulating around is having Wasp spray by you. It is better than pepper spray by all means. It can spray up to 20 feet, and is easy to get anywhere. That way if you did have an intruder you can spray his face/eyes. That would do the job. Don't mean to scare you but I would do it. I have a dog. And, he might be little. But, his bark is big, and sounds mean. I also pray a lot!! I'll do the same for you. Love you all!

Gwen I never heard of wasp spray. Will definitely get some. We have a security system it came w/the house in Florida. I never used it at night until I heard all the military wives say they never went to bed w/out it on. Tried it once when dh had gone away for a few days & used it all the time after that. I wouldn't want to be w/out one again.

I've thought about it but this really is a great, safe development.

Until you get that security system......get a sign that says "Beware of Dog" and put it visibly in your yard.

The wasp spray has been going around for quite a while now. And, it is actually easier to get. And, unlike mace sprays further, and is cheaper too. The police say you can keep it anywhere. Like in all rooms of your house, and in your car etc. And, that they are coming out with a small can that can be carried on you now. I don't quite get that one though.
And, if your going to have a "Beware of Dog" sign. It would be good if you had a few signs of a dog living in the house too. Or I remember a show where a woman actually had a tape of a dog barking. It worked for her. When people heard it they thought it was the real deal. But, the home security system seems like the best thing. Unless you have nosy neighbors like mine. They know everything that is going on. So, I don't think anyone would have a chance if they tried anything around here. LOL
I will be praying for you though. Pray is a great security system if your asking me. Love you all!!

I will not yell at you I don't think any pets should be let run it's not safe to do so.

I will say that our big dog got out of the yard for a few mins about a week ago. The ice started to melt and went under the gate,
