What is your most favorite Christmas Memory???

I think that it the reason my fave is after I grew up...as I too did not have a good family life growing up...but that is in the past..so I just leave it there..lol. I did not know many of our extended family..mostly because we lived in a far away out of the way sort of place...we were the poor church mice...and they all had the good life..financially...oh well...we grew up with very little, but did not even know it..lol. There were 8 of us children....there was always a gift for each of us under the tree...we never asked for anything..did not know that we were supposed to ..I guess. Anyways as an adult my Christmases were awesome. and still are..this year we are spending it with children and grandchildren...have not done that since we moved up here..it is nice to look forward to that. we were too not quite like others..most people that we knew did not have large families..usually only 3 or four at the most....lol

sounds like you had and still do , a great family. and congratulations on your upcoming anniversary of being engaged. lol. We married 11 months after the engagement..November 21 1980. so we celebrated our 30th on board ship. It was a wondeful time.

sorry Fran.pretty scary for a little one....but I did have a little chuckle when i read your story..but it surely must have been traumatic...I never been to NY...but I do remember seeing photos and reading about the Automat..and about the food in the little compartments. that must have been pretty exciting on its own..lol.
