I picked up my daughter and grandson and we went shopping for his school clothes and school supplies. He was so easy to buy for when it came to the clothes. He'd run in the dressing room and come running back out with something new to show me. It was such fun...until...we got to the shoes!!OMG

That little stinker took forever to find just the right pair. First it was Toy Story...then camouflage, Spiderman...and on and on! He finally settled on the sort of camouflage.LOL

We almost ran into the same problem with backpacks! My dd said he'd been begging for a Spiderman backpack but when he saw the Lego Star Wars...Spidey was history.

LOL, that made me laugh. At least they had it in his size when he finally decided on a shoe!

I know! It was worth it though. He was so proud of his new stuff....at least for the short time it took to drop them off at home.LOL

Once he got there he sped away to play with his friends. The shopping trip is a faded memory now.HA!

My two youngest are the pickiest too!  I think there are too many choices now for them anyway.

That's exactly what it is. When I was a kid there were saddle oxfords...maybe a patent leather and Keds.LOL! Of course we had no money as I grew up so we got one good pair of school shoes and the rest of the time we ran around barefooted dodging chicken poo, and jumping from one clump of grass to another to keep from scorching our feet. Sadly though we'd jump right into the occasional sticker (we called them goatheads) patch!!OWEEEE.

Once we found shoes that my youngest liked when he was 4 or 5, we then had to buy a few pairs in the larger sizes as he won't put on new shoes unless they were exactly the same. He drove me crazy when the store where I brought them closed when he was 8. It took a few mths for him to find a pair he would like then they had to be in the house for a few wks before he would put them on. Meanwhile, his old runners were falling apart, had holds top & bottom.

I laugh now 20 yrs later when he buys something & wears it the next day. lol

HA! That is funny. Bob has a pair of red Lightning McQueen from Cars crocs. He won't give them up! They are so worn out. Lightnings picture has cracked and fallen out in pieces...yet he still insists on wearing them.

You just know he's getting silent "poor little boy" thoughts from people when he's out in public with them on.LOL!!
