How are you feeding your multiples?

I wasn't able to breastfeed at all, darn toxemia, so they are formula fed. At about 3 1/2 months we started adding rice cereal to their formula because they weren't getting full on formula alone. Now we kinda do a combination of formula and solids.

My only advice would be listen to your kids. They know when they are hungry better than a schedule. :D

Mine were on mostly formula, I did pump for a short time though so they got a bit of both in the beginning. It was so hard to keep up with though, especially trying to get both of them fed and with going back to work looming in the distance. They did really good on formula though, and it really helped when others could do a feeding.

Solids are fun! Advice I have to share would be to start them on table foods early, so they can get used to the taste and texture. I wish I would have done that with mine, I think they would have more variety in what they like to eat now.

I'm doing a wacky combo of nursing, pumping, and formula feeding. I was just thinking the other day about when solids are supposed to be introduced. Especially considering adjusted age (my girls were born 7 weeks early)... do you go by actual or corrected age, or go by babies' cues if they're interested in other foods... ???

My boys were born at 32 weeks and they started on rice cereals at 3.5 months. We're now fully into a life of peas, carrots, and applesauce. We went by when the boys were ready. We have really done very little according to the "adjusted age" it's all been about normal.

I would probably follow their lead, if they are showing interest than you want to keep it.

Yah, that's what I was thinking, just to follow their leads. I try to keep their adjusted age in mind so that I won't get upset if they don't meet milestones as "normal", but so far (with their sleep and smiling anyway), they seem to be on a full-term baby schedule.
