I haven't answered this one yet because it would take a lot of typing, and this has been a very busy week for me.

My mom had five chore boards set up, one for each of us. I am the oldest, so I remember always being irritated by how I had the "hardest" jobs. We did get paid $1 per week as long as each item was checked off our lists each day.

Short answer for my house: I have to stand over my kids to get them to do anything. My oldest 4's dad doesn't believe that kids should have chores and he does everything for them (but he only has them 4 days total during the month) and he lets them (and me) know that the only thing they should be responsible for is their homework. So I'm constantly fighting an uphill battle. I've tried lists. I've tried calling every afternoon to tell them what to do. I've tried charts. Right now, I've just thrown up my hands for a little bit because I've been so stressed so I've been taking the path of least resistance and just doing what I can by myself. Needless to say, right now my house is a major disaster. Did I mention that he even puts toothpaste on their toothbrushes and hands them to them? I kid you not.
