I like your idea! That gets a lot of kids involved. Great!

I have a new laundry system that I am loving. Every morning, as part of their morning chore pack, one of my 3 oldest (this alternates) picks up everyone's dirty laundry, sorts it and starts the largest load. After breakfast I move it, after lunch I fold and move again. In the afternoon, my 4th oldest, brings everyone's individual bins in, we sort all the clean clothes and he delivers them to the bedrooms where they are put away by their owners, or me for the very littles. With this system, all the laundry is done every day. The only draw back to this has been that we do not have enough room in our drawers!! We have gotten rid of tons of clothiers, you just don't need them when you don't have a pile of dirty, unwearable, things. I just decided my attitude about laundry would be similar to my attitude about dirty dishes... Just do it, don't leave it for tomorrow! The small individual bins are very manageable, becaus you only have a day's worth of dirty clothes. The laundry gets clean because we are properlly sorting and washing each load, and don't overfill the machiine. We do not do any laundry on Sunday. I have certain days for certain things, and do laundry pretty much every day.

Monday is sheets; Tuesday is bathroom laundry; Wednesday is kitchen laundry; Friday is HS's laundry and DH's work clothes; and several times a week I wash the diapers, the little boys' clothes, and my and DH's everyday clothes, but that's on an as-needed basis.

I was 1 of 6, and we always helped do the laundry.

So how do you all deal with laundry?

Lets see ~ I try to do at least 2 loads of laundry a day. My three oldest kiddos each have thier own baskets. My 16 year old does his own laundry from start to finish. I wash and dry the laundry for my 13 and 11 year olds, they are responsible for hanging and folding and putting away their own clothes. I wash dry fold and put away my 3 year old, DH and my own clothes. Though my 3 year old does help fold towels and washrags. :)

I have found that each of the older children having their own baskets has been a real time saver when it comes to sorting clothes and them being put away.

laundry ... the bane of my existence. honestly, and this will help no-one at all ... i ignore it until it's crazy huge and then I wash it all and put it all away in a matter of a day or 2 ... =0 I know, doesn't help a soul!!
