Sibylla has struggled with eczema since she was a few weeks old and we treat it with hydrocortizone ointment when it gets really bad. But this time it isn't going away and she's getting new patches grrrrr! Anyway, there was a little boy at the daycare I work at who is being treated for ringworm, and some of her patches are round. Have any of you dealt with ringworm before? Any advice would be great!

We've not had ring worm, but we've had other allergic skin reactions misdiagnosed as ringworm. So I agree with the PP who said see a dermatologist/allergist.
Once thing I found that helps with eczema, regardless of what lotion or medication you are using, sealing it in with auqaphore helps a lot. When I lotion my eczema kids, I also follow up with aquaphore (especially in the winter) b/c I find it helps hold in the lotion and hydrate the skin. It also cuts down on the itchiness.
I hope she is better soon!

Did you find out if it is ringworm? My baby has skin issues too and I am starting to figure out what causes her to react. I am breastfeeding and I have had to eliminate some foods from my diet and it helps a lot. I hope you can figure out what helps because it is so miserable to see your baby uncomfortable like that.

it wasn't ringworm, her eczema had just gotten bad, I did not know that hydrocortizone could thin your skin, that's scary! Thanks for the aquphor tip, Martie. We got some hypoallergenic vegan goop from Lush and that seems to help. I've also started rinsing her clothes twice.
