Article: Why Having an Only Rocks

One of my friends on Facebook shared this article the other day about why her three person family works. She's got some really good points, and one that sticks out to me is the whole competition thing among siblings. My two are highly competitive against one another, and it doesn't matter how impartial I am. It's almost like they're wired to act like this with each other.

I agree with most of it but with only one child I still find myself tidying up her "mess, spend hours coordinating pickups and drop-offs" (even for one there is some planning to do ) . I do not " get QT with the hubby whenever I want." and I would not "describe most of my family's days together as relaxing, fun and fulfilling". There are different issues with an only and it's still hard work bringing up one child to be a complete and happy person.
