We don't do a lot of candy because, to be honest, I spend money on it just so it can sit until the next major holiday when we toss what's in the cupboard to make room for the next holiday's worth of candy that will just sit. We do jelly beans and I like the reese's pieces candy egg things (reese's pieces are my all time favorite candy). But, DD is getting a DVD and a "'Mazin' Hamster" thing (goes with the Webkinz toys/online games). She doesn't play online often, but loves the stuffed toys. I'm not sure what else she'll be getting. My parents are coming to visit us that day, so I'm sure they'll shower her with some things and we'll be visiting my in-laws a couple weeks later and my MIL already said that she's getting DD some beach shoes and a beach towel, and I'm sure will have some more goodies for her, too. My DD is my parents' only grandchild, so she tends to get showered with more gifts there. She's one of 4 grandchildren (soon to be 5 grandchildren) on my DH's side of the family. But, my MIL can never resist certain things and when she sees things, she buys them through the year and just saves them up. :) DD is definitely a lucky kid.

**Edited to add that I just bought DD 3 books from Amazon that will go into her easter basket, too. :)

I love throwing books into the baskets. This year, DS can read and is really into the Magic Tree House series.

Really!? I guess that's cool but I can't imagine the US having a day off for anyone's wedding!

Not sure if I'll put the candy and little stuff (and a groupon) in a basket for M@ this year - if I did then he'd want me to hide the 100+ plastic eggs we have! LOL

I remember when we had a day off for Princess Diana's wedding.

A day off sounds good, whatever the reason!
