Make it a great one!
Had a wonderfully relaxing weekend here. Everyone slept in and generally lazed around not accomplishing much of anything. Heaven! LOL We swam Saturday and went for a bike ride Sunday. Dh and I read our books and Travis caught up on his video game playing. ;-)
This is the second week of College for Kids so Travis will be there every morning. He is pestering me to set up a play date with a friend of his. I like this friend and the mom, but she never EVER reciprocates on play dates. Not that I need that to happen every time but they've been good friends since Kindergarten and not once have they asked Travis to do anything. But they always seem happy to have him come over. It feels weird to me and makes me feel a bit awkward and nervous. I'll probably suck it up for Travis's sake!
Drum lesson for Travis tonight. We are seriously thinking of dropping the drum lessons. We don't really want to but Travis is not really putting any effort into it at this point and we are tired of having to hound him about practicing all the time. Of course he whines and says he doesn't want to quit when we bring it up, but I'm seeing no indication that he enjoys it. He never plays on his own, only practices when we make him and the practicing he does do is very lackluster. What would you do???
Lovely graphic Amy.
Today was the first day of our Summer break
Amy, we have similar issues with violin.
Had a great weekend. The party was great.
I did have to call 911 about 9:30 though. We live on a corner lot and suddenly we hear/see this huge crash on the "main" road. Some idiot was going 45-50 MPH in a 25 and slammed into a car parked there. It pushed my neighbor's car over 100ft and up on to the grass. Then the guy kept driving. They did catch him. My other neighbor came over to find out what the heck we called 911 for because he's a volunteer firefighter and heard the address and freaked. So he let me know when they got the guy, who ended up slumped over his steering wheel with his head cut and the airbag that went off. He was drunk (figures right?!) He'll live and no one else got hurt.
It stormed late Saturday night but only 2 people were camping in the yard (the other 3 that stayed were inside) and they said they were dry in the tent so it was fine.
Next time same party less cops :P
I'm not sure how your schools do this, but will they have an orchestra for the students to join later down the line?
