Last day of August!

Hard to believe. Where did August go??

Travis ended up being gone all day yesterday with his friend, he got home a bit after 5. His face got sunburned and he was tired, sore, and dirty! Said he had a great day. :-) Dh and I did more yard work.

Travis has safety patrol after school every day this week. He'll be watching the crosswalk by the bus lot, and he's pretty excited about it. This means I need to pick him up from school every day this week as he'll miss the bus. Tonight he has his drum lesson.

Yesterday Travis spent the day with his friend, at the friend's sisters softball tournament. They played football and catch (and who knows what else) all day. They picked him up at 7:15 and dropped him off about 10 hours later! His legs are stiff and sore today from whatever they did all day long. He is walking around like an old man!

They can do safety patrol in 5th grade, and this is his first day doing it. I think they do it for a week at a time, but I'm not sure because no schedule ever came home. I would love to get a picture of him doing it but I'm pretty sure that would really irritate him, LOL. Especially in the position he's working today...there would be no way to get a pic without it being totally obvious. Maybe when he switches to a different crosswalk I can try to get a pic from my car. ;-)

I'm going to need a lot of coffee today too! My allergies are killing me so I took a Benadryl which means I'm about to get VERY sleepy. I have too much to do today to nap, so I'm counting on the caffeine to keep me moving.

Yes where did August go? I'm hoping Sept will slow down a bit, but then again I have so much going on in Sept there will be no rest for me. :(

I didn't sleep well last night so I'm going to be tired today. Different bed and missing my kiddo and DH, maybe I'll be tired enough to sleep tonight.

Today I drop my cousin off at the airport and then I'll do a little shopping. DH needs a shirt for the weddings and I need to go to the book store :). I've already indulged in some sushi so I'm loving that part of my visit to San Antonio. Oh I'll have to find a craft store also, I'm sure I'll find SOMETHING I can't live without :)

Hope you all have a great day. Paige is still saying her tummy is hurting so I'm worried about her. I hope it stops. :(

I forgot to reply about your post! lol

Sounds like Travis had a fun weekend and will have a fun week being on safety patrol! Paige would love doing something like that.

When are hockey tryout's?

Travel tryouts are Tuesday and Thursday Sept. 15 and 17. I'm nervous he won't make the team and nervous he WILL make the team! I'm very torn about doing travel. I would be perfectly happy doing house league and then a select (limited travel) team like we did last year. I'm kind of afraid that full travel will be too much for all of us. Our schedule is so full already and we all like our down time, too. But he would get better coaching and more ice time doing travel, plus he'd be playing with better players so I think it would really advance his skills and level of play. And some traveling is fun! I'm really not sure he's quite good enough to make the team...kind of depends how hardcore the coach is (and I've heard varying reports). I would almost be relieved if he didn't make it, but then I would feel bad too. I'm a little stressed about it!

Oh and I meant to tell you... we have Red Wings tickets!!! We're going to 2 games in November; a Thursday game and a Saturday game, I think it's Nov. 12 and 14. They play the Canucks and the Ducks. We are soooo excited!!! I've been researching hotels, etc. If you have any tips or info about Detroit please let me know. :-)

Good luck to Travis, Amy. Hope he makes the team.

All the hockey talk reminds me of a cute little boy from Brionna's grade. His Dad and all his brothers were very into Hockey (I think his dad was the head of the youth hockey assn) and

I cannot believe August is done!! Where did summer go? First day of school is tomorrow but I will be busy so should keep my mind off of missing Brionna, Maya has a vet appt in the morning, I have to get my pics to the fair and I have a Dr's appt in the afternoon. Busy week too as our county fair is in town, starting Wednesday. We normally go

Oh I totally understand you being torn on the travel team. I know the kids that did it when I were in school were super busy, I don't know how their parents kept up with it all. We were busy with just regular play for my brothers!

I'm sooooooo jealous on the hockey tickets, that's exciting! I have no idea on hotels there in Detroit. I'll give my cousin a poke and see if he has any suggestions, he lives in the suburbs of Detroit, in Dearborn I think. Things have been rough in the state of MI with all the job losses, you really want to do your research and find a good, safe place.

Oh wow, that's a lot of work! I take Maki to the groomer, I wouldn't even think of trying to give him a cut and trimming his nails. We're waiting until after our trip home to get him cut again. Guess that means I'll have to give him and extra bath. He's depressed since his buddy Blue is gone. :( Blue is flying out tomorrow to live with my cousin in California. We're all going to miss him.
