Well after the hectic day on Tuesday with a big bus problem in the afternoon, Wednesday was much nicer however still busy.

Tuesday (first day of school) Brionna was riding the bus home for the first time, I had an appt at 2:40 (yearly thing) and the bus normally gets to our house around 3:30 which I figured I could make it home by and then I had another appt at 4:00. We live like 5 min from the clinic. So I am home by 3:20 or so and by 3:50 still no bus. Luckily dh came home too, he wasn't planning on it but wanted to just in case I wasn't home in time, he had some thing to go to after work. I left for my appt (mammogram) at about 3:58, yeah I was running a bit late but I got there very quickly. I asked if they were running on time cause normally these appts can take up to an hour, most of which is spent sitting in a waiting area. She said they were on time and then I explained the situation about Brionna. So she took me back right away and got me in with a tech right away who let me use the phone and call to see if Brionna was home yet, and she wasn't. Well they did the mammogram and I got right out of there and was home by 4:30. Brionna was home by that time, she got there around 4:15. The bus company said this was their worst first day of school ever and they were running 45 minutes late due to one school who wouldn't let their students get on the bus cause they thought every individual bus was going to stop at their school and pick up the kids and take them home when in reality what happens is one bus goes to each school, picks up the kids then all the busses go to the high school and you then get on the actual bus that will take you to your house. Then besides that they had all the wrong bus numbers on the kids, must have been a preschool or something cause I guess they had little cards pinned on them but they had all the bus routes wrong so at the high school (when they finally got there) they had to one by one figure out where each child went. What a mess!

Yesterday was the first day of the fair, usually the fair is on the week before school starts but it is always over labor day and with the late labor day this year school started early. So I picked Brionna up from school so we didnt' have any bussing issues and we went to the fair after she was done with her homework. Her and the 8 yr old I watch after school went along with another friend. It was fun. This year instead of eating fair food, except for snacks like snowcones and mouse ears, we brought sandwhiches for supper. We sat down and watched a show while we ate then went back to the rides. Yesterday was $1 ride day and they did like 21 rides. Tonight is wristband night as is Friday and Monday. We normally go to the fair all six days but Friday evening Brionna wants to run to a gymnastics center in a town about 50 min from here for their open gym so we are doing that instead. So we will be going tonight, then again on the weekend and Monday too. We won't be doing any rides on the weekend though this year, just walk around and look at things and watch the shows. There is always some show that Brionna likes and then we go to each showing during the weekend days. Last year and this year they have this guy...Bob Bohm who does a magic show and a family survivor game show which is really fun to watch. The magic show imo is kinda lame but Brionna likes it. The survivor thing though is funny.

They judge the photos at the fair today so maybe tonight I can see if I won anything but I may not find out until Saturday. Not sure if I will have a chance to look tonight or not.

Well dh doesn't go in until 2 so he is still sleeping. Thinking about joining him but not sure. School is going well for Nathan. We have open house tonight so I finally get to meet his teachers. Its about time it has been driving me crazy. My sister is going with me since dh is working. Well that is it. Definitely ready for a long weekend. Have a great day.

We are still trying to get back into the school groove here. School itself is going fine, it's the trying to find time to fit everything we need to do into the hours after school before bedtime that is killing us! Travis is also fighting his bedtime. I like to have him in bed by 9:00 some nights and 9:30 at the latest on most school nights. Of course he thinks this is much too early, but I don't.

Tonight we're having our picture taken at church for the directory. It will be kind of a rush to get Travis picked up after school, come home and get him a quick snack, change his clothes and drive to the church. Dh will meet us there after work. I have all our color-coordinated clothes picked out, LOL. Hopefully we'll get a good pic. We get a free 8x10 and we'll probably buy a 5x7 for each of our parents.

After that it will be either home to relax, or we might stop at Lowes and look for a new kitchen light. Ours quit working and it's something that would be more of a hassle to repair than to just replace it. I really like the fixture so hopefully we can find something similar. I think I'd rather let that wait until the weekend. I'm so glad it's a long weekend here! Really looking forward to it!

Oh what a mess about the bus! Is there a number you can call for an update if it happens again? We have a "bus hut" that can radio to any bus if needed. I've had to call them before when the bus drove right past Travis at the stop...they radioed the bus and told the driver to turn around and go back for him.

Our bus usually runs behind schedule at the beginning of the year (especially after school) but this year it really hasn't so that was a nice surprise. Hopefully once they get the kinks worked out you won't have any more problems.

Enjoy the fair, and good luck on your photos!

If nothing else I want to set up the tripod and take one on my camera using the timer when we get home. Those tend to look much more natural anyway. The studio portraits tend to look so stiff and posed!
