I was invited to stop by this group by your wonderful CL, Amy.
Yay, glad you came over, Gina! Just jump right in anywhere and everywhere. :-)
When is Amy's birthday? Travis just turned 10 a few weeks ago. What types of sports does she play?
Amy is a February girl and is actually 11 now. She is a year behind in school as we held her back in 1st grade due to excessive absences.
She loves most any sport!
That's great! I think being involved in athletics really does a lot for kids.
Travis likes to be involved in a lot of different things, but some sports are more of a social activity for him than anything else. Soccer was like that...he always wanted to sign up but then he wouldn't put much effort into it so it got a little excruciating after a while. This past year he played baseball and would have done basketball but we missed the sign-ups. He would do soccer and football as well if we'd let him, but his true passion is hockey. Hockey is expensive and is a year-round sport here (spring and summer league is more relaxed and less structured though) so we have made that our main focus and then we work in other sports here and there. He likes to play defense and just moved up into a checking league, so that has been interesting. He hasn't mixed it up much yet, but some of the kids he plays with now are a LOT bigger than him and he holds his own pretty well. The grandparents have had a few minor heart attacks in the stands watching him get hit, though. ;-)
I'm not quite used to him being in double digits yet. This was an emotional birthday for me! I just can't believe how fast 10 years have flown by.
My DD Victoria is 9.
Great to meet you Moss.
I'll leave our other "international member" to introduce herself!
