Just wondering if other moms of only children are as overprotective as I am. My DS has had many health problems in the past and I painic when he so much as coughs or sneezes. I know this is excessive, but I still run to his side and

No - but ds never really had any heath issues. If he had, that might have changed my perspective (and I'd think that would for moms of more than one as well). Have you and he taken any first aid training? That might put your mind at ease a bit to know he'd know what to do if something happened - ?

DD is almost four, and I'm a bit overprotective. I'm not a helicopter parent or anything, but she *has* to be within sight or I start to panic. There are kids in the neighborhood her age who are allowed to roam around without parental supervision (???), so it's annoying. I have no problems letting her explore the world, but she's not going to do it out of eyesight. Thankfully, she hasn't had any health problems, though.

Does your DS still have health issues?

Well not quite to that extent but I do tend to be on the overprotective side in general.
