Any big plans for the weekend?Stay cool!!
I AM ready for the weekend, and that snowcone is looking very refreshing at the moment. It's so hot and humid here, bleh! Travis has had soccer camp all week from 10-noon. Monday and Tuesday were okay but since then it has just been miserable. He doesn't tolerate this high heat well so he has had a rough time at camp. Wednesday we left an hour early because he had a bad headache and was just way over-heated. Thursday he made it through the whole thing but he was just a mess afterward...nauseous and miserable for over an hour. We skipped today! I didn't see any point in sending him knowing it would be day 3 in a row of him looking and feeling like a limp noodle that had been run over by a bus! So he went to the waterpark with his buddy today, instead. I'm sure he'll have a lot more fun with that!
Nothing major planned for the weekend. The heat is supposed to continue, so we'll probably either be in the pool or in the house!
Heat index right now is 106, so not going to do much outside! DH is determined to mow tonight; no thanks. I'll just keep bringing him cold stuff to drink and going right back in! Just came back from the library with 6 DVDs that were ready for me (I get on the list and you never know what comes up when). I got some ribs; I might do those Sunday.
M@ is very seriously lovesick and very difficult to be around now; we cancelled our vacation over his bday because his gf will be stopping over between China and then France for 4 days that week (then gone another 3 weeks), and he wants to be here. So instead of being miserable with us, we'll concede and just stay home and let him work and see her. Such a fun time - I knew he'd wear his heart on his sleeve.
I'm watching Precious - what a story...Sue
we've had 2 very busy weeks so this weekend I'm going to relax and try to do NOTHING! ;-)
Last week Paige was in soccer camp and we hosted a coach from the UK. That was a blast and we loved having him here. Hope to do it again next year also, even if Paige doesn't do the soccer camp. On Saturday I got up early and drove to San Antonio for the second part of my Adult Facilitator training for Girl Scouts. I'm officially done with that so I hope no more training to be a trainer!
This week Paige had Girl Scout day camp and I was working every day aside from today. I played hookie from work today so I could spend the day with the scouts. It was water play and very fun. :)
Speaking of work, we sold the business! It was final on July 5. Very complicated sale, I have no idea how it'll all work out but our getting paid depends on them doing well with the business, so let's hope they don't run it into the ground...
I'm working for a new company now since the new owners that bought ours gave me 2 weeks notice that they were not going to do diabetic shoes! My new company is Regal Medical and i'm on straight commission, so I have yet to get a pay check. I'm hoping to start getting some shoes through but I'm waiting on paperwork from the doctors. I've decided what I really want to be is an Orthotist/Prosthetist and go back to school for my BS degree. I'm going to check with the VA and see if they have any programs I apply for as a disabled vet :) my dream job is to work with the amputees at the VA.
My DH's stress level has gone down so much we're hoping he'll be off one of his blood pressure med's soon. :) He's loving being in college and staying home full time. It's been hard for me to adjust to the one who's gone and working but I'm doing ok aside from some headaches. I have to come up with a plan of action for next week to try and get some sales. Not used to having to "sell" I had employees who did that before or the people just found their way to the store!
Whew, so that's what's been going on and what I'm doing for the weekend. :) Relaxing!
Oh gosh, I do not envy you that love-sick teenager! You sound incredibly patient.
I haven't watched Precious. It just seemed like it would be so difficult to get through!
