Summer camps? Day camps?

Have you ever sent your child to a summer camp?  DD is too young for an overnight camp, but there are some day camps being offered in our area that would be appropriate for her age group.  It would just be a couple of hours during the late morning into lunch time.  Have you had any experiences with day camps?

DD went to a Sports Day Camp and to an Arts and Crafts camp when she was maybe about 7. Her taekwondo group also ran Summer day or half day camps from the age of about 5 but for kids who normally went to the classes.
This year and last year she's done a week long drama camp which culminates in a very professional performance. That starts from age 8. She's also done drama camps during Easter vacation
