Since the boards were down and I'm starting this late in the day, I thought we could make this Tuesday AND Wednesday's chat thread.

Travis is enjoying his hockey clinic this week. He says the drills are hard but fun and he's learning and getting to work on some new skills. Today he told me that his whole body-- including his butt! LOL-- is sore! Guess that means he's getting a really good workout. The camp has a couple of kids that are younger than him, several around his age and then quite a few older kids. He's not the best skater out there on some of the things they're working on (backwards cross-overs, quick footwork, etc) but I can tell he's trying hard and I've heard the coaches praising him for that so that's a success in my opinion.

He had his first percussion lesson for band last night and he said it went okay. Tonight dh and I have the super fun task of moving all the furniture out of the living room and our bedroom, because the guy is coming to stretch the carpet tomorrow. I'll be glad when that is done!

We're finally having some summery weather this week. It's hot and humid and I'm not even going to complain...it's been so much cooler than normal for over a month now, this actually feels good!

Any idea why the boards were down so long or if the issues is resolved (I hope so as if not we may have another long outage)?

Well it's Wednesday here :)

I've mainly been working on my assignment which will be my focus for the rest of the week. I received back my previous assignment yesterday and I did okay in that which has given me a bit of breathing space. This is the first subject where I really mean it when I say as long as I pass I do not care about the mark. I just really do not want to do it again. On the positive side it has reinforced to me that the career decision I have made recently is the right one. As much as I love number crunching I am not cut out for the cut throat business world. The thought of making life slightly difficult for anyone in any way just to make a bit more profit makes me positively sick. If I can just get through this subject I have 2 more to do and then I can focus on following my dream :)

Mitchell had taekwondo yesterday and about halfway through said he felt like throwing up. I don't believe it's true because of the way he was acting, not at all like he felt sick and a few minutes later he decided to get back in there and way jumping around like crazy as usual. So I'm not really sure where it all came from but he doesn't seem to be particularly upset about anything either so who knows..

I think he's really happy at school these days too. This term, which we are 2.5 weeks into, he has been happy and chatty every single day when I pick him up. Prior to this he was always grumpy and it was often hard to get a concrete reason for it. I think he knows we're in the home stretch and he keeps reminding me to ask the school to make sure "I" is not in his class next year, so he is still bothering him but maybe knowing he can escape is helping.

The hockey clinic sounds fun. Your kids have such exciting holiday things to do!

Good luck with the carpet and the furniture moving.

Thanks! I do feel a sense of accomplishment. I am a bit fearful of the bill we will create in shopping for new as this may be the biggest amount at a time since she has been school aged!

I'm going to be a maths teacher :)

I've been studying accounting and have 3 subjects left of my degree. Because DH is in the Air Force and we have moved around a lot it was convenient to do a course I could do by correspondence and I do like number crunching. But after missing out on a job earlier this year I stopped and really thought about what I want to do and the corporate world just isn't me but I love kids, I love to teach and I love maths so next year I am going to start my education degree and with credit for previous study I am hoping I can finish it in 2 years and then become a High School maths teacher. Thanks for asking.

As for Mitchell, he tends to say he is sore, has a headache, stomach ache, etc when there is something he is struggling with, but I couldn't figure what it was at taekwondo.
