Happy August! :-) I can't believe school starts in less than 3 weeks here!

Last night we went out for dinner and then rented some movies. Travis got one of the Harry Potter movies so he watched that last night. He also came home after his last day of camp and found a website that lists ALL the HP spells and what they do and printed them all out, LOL. Today when he was out running some errands with dh they stopped at the library and he checked out the first HP book. The camp definitely re-sparked his interest in all things Harry Potter. :-) We went for a short bike ride after we got home last night.

Today we're just hanging out at home taking it easy. Dh and Travis are watching Beverly Hills Chihuahua. (I'm partly watching it while surfing...I already saw it in the theater with Travis)

T has hockey tonight and is going home with my mom afterwards to spend the night. I'll pick him up tomorrow afternoon in time for the little league ice cream social. He asked a friend to come home with us after the social for a few hours, but we haven't heard back from them yet so not sure. On an annoying note, the social is tomorrow afternoon and the coach still hasn't called us to let us know! We only know about it because dh called the league president to find out when it was, and they told us that the coaches had been informed a week ago. Um, thanks for getting in touch, LOSER! Incompetent people really get on my nerves.

Anyway, dh and I will have a quiet house tonight. :-)

Yesterday was a fairly casual day. The boys went to Auskick in the morning and apparently Mitchell had a ton of fun and kicked a goal and stopped a goal from the other team too. He came home in a great mood so that was cool.

We went for a drive for a while and then we had to be home at 3pm because the Crows were playing on the tv :)

Today Mitchell and I are going up to a birthday party of his friend J who is the son of one of my good friends so I get to go too and talk to my friends :) We shopped for J's present yesterday and for the first time ever Mitchell was really helpful in picking out a present without whinging about wanting toys for himself. I told him afterwards that I was proud of him and appreciated him being so helpful. He came back to me about 5 minutes later and said " you know why I've been so helpful? Because J is my friend". I love the stuff he says!

I am so jealous of all Travis' Harry Potter fun!

Enjoy your quiet night :)

It's actually Aussie Rules football :) Mitchell has been doing Auskick for 3 years now. Technically they're not supposed to start until they are 5 but we used to live in Katherine which is a town in the middle of nowhere so they were pretty casual about the rules and Mitchell had just turned 4 when he started up there. He seems to enjoy anything sporting related but has only really been getting into the footy fairly recently. DH is very happy as Aussie Rules is his favourite sport and sharing that with Mitchell is kind of his dream :)

Well done at Auskick, Mitchell!

That's so cute what he said about helping pick out the present for his friend. Hope you guys had a good time at the party.

I slept in this morning. I had a headache and now have a bit of a lower back ache (probably from staying in bed too long!). Dh and I went out for burgers and beers after Travis went home with my mom from hockey. I think I had one too many beers...thus the headache. ;-) We watched The Wrestler last night (well I did, dh fell asleep). It was kind of a sad movie.

Need to pick up Travis soon and then go to the ice cream social so T can pick up his trophy. I'd like to just sit on the patio and read after that, maybe grill some pork chops for dinner. Try to make it an early night.

LOL @ Travis being so into HP! That's awesome :) We showed K all the movies throughout the summer and took him to the theater to see the recent one. He was a pest at down times in the movie, but other than that he really likes HP.

HA! I just remembered watching the HP movie with Cedric in it - the guy that plays Edward in Twilight was Cedric. When Cedric was killed I turned to DH and said, "Don't worry, he comes back as a vampire." LOL! Sorry, just had to throw that in there :P

I hope the social goes well later on today and the rest of your night is relaxing.

Belinda, that is so neat that Mitchell was so helpful in picking out a gift for his friend! I am hoping Kian joins those ranks as well. The last time we got a gift for someone he wanted it himself lol. I know he will change in time though ;)

Yesterday morning was pretty busy. I spent it digging out weeds from the front yard, trimming down the bushes in the front of the house and then tackling the HUGE amount of weeds in the back yard. Since this house is a rental and it seems like everyone planted their own random stuff, I am having a hard time telling what is weeds and what is not LOL Yesterday I gave up and just started hacking at what I thought were weeds. I did discover that we have some mint randomly growing in the back yard! I must have torn one of the leaves because I could smell it in the air, so yummy! I wonder if I can transplant that to somewhere not infested with weeds and what not.

The rest of the day I spent relaxing a bit. I am working on writing a story for my own entertainment and I had some great ideas I wanted to get out of my head. I have been writing ever since!

This morning DH is golfing with some friends. Kian and I are hanging around the house. Our dog has some sort of skin allergy so I am having to baby him :P In fact I had to give him a bath a bit ago with some script shampoo and conditioner...ugh...not fun. And i gotta repeat it on Wednesday again :P I guess at least he won't smell lol!
